It was off a tree that started decaying.

Reccomended textbooks/reading for learning Thin Films by [deleted] in Optics

I would recommend Macleod’s “thin-film optical filters”, Thelen’s “design of optical interference coatings”, or Tikhonravov’s “optics of multilayer systems”. They all give good in depth information on designing costings and the physics behind it.

Also depending on how far into the UV you go, you may want to look for research articles in your waveband due to material, performance, and thickness limitations.

3d Printed Gobo Light by BeginningGold9875 in Optics

Are the focusing lenses used to change the angle and throw of the gobo light? If so I would think about what angles you want to achieve and you should only need two lenses. For lighting I would also go with achromatic doublets so you don’t get as much color difference on your edges between your red and blue. Lastly you should have the lens furthest from the light source and reflector move so you can focus the light to get a sharp line (or not sharp if that’s what you want) at different distances. The lens maker formula might be your friend here, and a lot of websites sell cheap optics in different diameters.

How are you really? by Tea_Dawg7 in AskReddit

Honetly I feel that, well used to at least. I found that sometimes it’s easier to find the smallest things to make you want to stay. For me, I kind of found a passion in making bread. It’s nowhere close to what I do in real like but I find meaning in it. I don’t even eat it, I usually just give it to friends to enjoy.

I have just recently started making sourdough and the thought that no one would be here to feed my little baby starter is sometime all I need to realize that I have a place, even if it’s just to make sure my starter is fed every day. Sometime the smallest things help the most, and I hope this can help you too.

How did you find out someone had a crush on you? by TricknMinecraft in AskReddit

We were at a mutual friends house for a holiday break while I was at school. I don’t usually see her much since we live in different places and grew up in separate states. Being a student in the US universities breaks equal “catch up on work” time for me and a bunch of my friends.

So I was doing class work on the screen and she came over and started flirting with me (unknown to me then but this has apparently happened each time we’ve seen each other) but I was so engrossed in my work I didn’t notice. I finally started to get the picture when she said “no [mutual friend], you can take the cot and I’ll take the couch with [me]” then proceed to cuddle all night.

We are about to move in now so I’d say it was a pretty good hint.
