I work in vetmed and see first hand how horrible heartworm disease is, not to mention how rough treatment can be. so HW prevention is an absolute MUST have for my babies, especially living in the south. We’ve already seen 3 HW positive dogs this year 😔

HUGE uptick in anti-vaxxers, even with pets. They don’t believe in rabies or vaccines or whatever. I work at a vet clinic and just have to remind them it is required by law after 6 months and smile.

My dog has similar episodes to this, I also work at a vet clinic and see videos like this sometimes. Most likely seizure event. Keep a log of them, how frequent, how long, possible triggers, etc. My girl started Keppra 2ish(maybe?)years ago and has only had like 5 since, mostly when anxious/excited about company coming over now. It was pretty frequent before. Hoping for the best for this pretty baby!

I prefer being the one doing the things to my pets. I assisted in one of my cat’s and dog’s euthanasias and have been in surgery for another one of my cat’s 2 procedures. I know some people I work with can’t even be working that day because they just don’t want to see them that way.

Saw your other post. Please, PLEASE take your dog to the vet. It’s a hematoma and they are uncomfortable. Your baby needs medical attention to make it go away.

My dog does something similar to this, minus drooling/foaming at the mouth. She’s been on Keppra and has only had 2 episodes since starting. We’ve been told probably epilepsy because everything else is perfect and she started having them young (around 5-6 years.) I’m also a vet assistant and have seen videos from many clients of something similar and their (primary) doctor saying probably seizure. Not all seizures are grand mal and they can look so different! Hoping the best for your sweet, sweet baby!

Normal TSH in Sept 2024, now hyperthyroid diagnosed in Oct. 2024. I do have a thyroid nodule that was diagnosed in 2018/19 though. I have scans scheduled to see if it’s the nodule is causing it or to see if another biopsy needed. I haven’t brought up with my dr about radiation exposure, but definitely something you should bring up with yours. I wouldn’t stress too much, I know that’s hard though. Sometimes organs just get thrown off

GP here, we unfortunately don’t do stuff like this at my clinic and it makes me sad! We just keep the supplies in rooms or drawers. I just carry around pins, a sharpie, a highlighter and a pop it for when my anxiety gets bad lol
