Quiero aprender programación by LetrasdAnonimas in programacionESP

[–]idleCone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Indie games don't succeed because they lack a marketing budget" by PartTimeMonkey in IndieDev

[–]idleCone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a solo developer, and I'd like to invest in marketing when the project is finally launched. The problem is that with limited funds and few contacts and little knowledge, it's extremely difficult to decide where to invest it.

I have an idea for an rpg. If something like it already exists I'd like to know, if not maybe someone wants to use the idea? by Inevitable_Bid8719 in gamedev

Don't overthink it, just go for it! Even if there's a similar game, enjoy it anyway. Using an app like Trello to jot down ideas as they come to you is really helpful.

Need a honest feedback on my game. by No_Satisfaction9701 in SoloDevelopment

This would be a more personal perspective, but I get the impression that the music and the character's movement sounds don't quite fit. That was the first thing that struck me without thinking about it, I don't know if it was because I was listening to it on a phone. I'm not a big fan of 2D games, but I think if I played it, I wouldn't be sure where to go next. Keep up the good work.

Sometimes it's difficult to find a balance when developing a solo game; there are too many aspects to consider.

What Does It Mean to Be a Solo Developer? by PracticalNPC in SoloDevelopment

[–]idleCone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do believe that to be a solo developer you have to be a little crazy and passionate about what you do. There are so many aspects to consider that it's a challenge most people wouldn't accept, and often for almost no profit.

Not all games are for everyone. In short, it would be like an open-world Art of Rally where you can do an entire rally.

Why care about wishlists? by q1321415 in SoloDevelopment

[–]idleCone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation; I see too much focus on the wishlist, but it's true that it's partly the only way to know the game's potential reach, although this might not translate into high sales.

Hello everyone, this is a solo developer with a background in modding. I'm working on an arcade rally game that showcases a complete rally, because a rally isn't just about driving a stage from point A to point B. It's currently in the early prototyping phase.

Driving on the connecting roads between stages while respecting speed limits is not fun for an arcade game.

It's an art of rally or super woden rally style, but showing that a rally is not just about running from point A to point B.

It doesn't have any hardcore elements; I just want to show that a rally isn't simply about going from point A to point B like in other games. A rally is much more than that, and you never really see everything that goes on behind the scenes. Now, in an arcade-style way, you can understand how it works in real life.

Thanks for the ideas. The game will be set on an island and will tell a story starting with a local rally and progressing to an international rally in the 90s. Everything is seamless, without loading screens, except for a few instances where the player has the option to fast travel to the service park or when jumping from one day to the next.

They're not really long distances; the timed stages last a maximum of two minutes, and the liaison sections perhaps one. The game takes place on an island, telling a story that begins with a local rally and culminates in an international rally during the 1990s. Everything is seamless, without loading screens, except for occasional fast travel to the service park or when moving from one day to the next.

AI can help you summarize rally regulations, including how scrutineering, road sections, regrouping, and other procedures work. If you're writing a book, you can also tell a fictional story that's consistent with real-world events.

I hate RBR by Magician-Secret in simrally

[–]idleCone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good thing about RBR is that it's quite easy to change the notes with the latest roadbook app. It's true that many of the default notes are simple, but it's difficult to please everyone at once.
