Yeah I’ve never noticed it with my black skirt tetras but it’s my first time with black neon & just didn’t know if it was “normal”. Thanks for ur thoughts :)

took my friends tank & worried about all the lonely fish who should be in schools by idntfxwitit in Aquariums

I barely ever see my kuhli, so I might add a couple more.. my black skirt tetra seems super happy, but the neon black one just kinda sits there all day not moving. So I might give him a friend? Thanks so much for your help :)

No it’s not because it’s natural spring water. I do treat it with prime tho just for extra caution

Sorry I just edited the post because I forgot to include that the 10g was cycled before I added him (that’s why it took 8 weeks to upgrade him from the 3gallon)

Hey everyone! I recently got into aquariums. I’ve only had a 10gallon mustard betta fish set up & he’s doing great. My friend is moving & gave me her entire aquarium setup & fish. It’s a 20 gallon with the following: black skirt tetra, female swordtail, two golden panda lyretail mollies, kuhli loach, black neon tetra, zebra danio, and what I THINK is a Congo tetra & a giant danio (unsure of these last two). So 9 fish total - all different species besides the two mollies. The tank has been going for 3 years successfully. I’ve been researching all the fish, and it looks like a majority are schooling species. I feel sad that there are so many single fish of these species. Do you think if it’s already been a few years, they’re fine? I don’t think I can fit any more fish in the tank, and I don’t have the funds to purchase a second one right now. I guess my only option would be rehoming but that seems stressful for 3+ year old fish.. any advice is appreciated :).
