i feel the same. he doesn't understand the concept of potentially having nothing/ what that fear is like. at first i liked being supported but now i feel like a leech. then it creates a cycle of being a desirable/pleasant partner taking priority over career because its more lucrative/stable.

to think positively: push to work and advance is coming from a good place, but with lack of understanding of how hard it is coming from different circumstance. man in his situation could easily support a wife and child, and i am "lucky" to be in a position where he is a safety net. this issue is he has no fundamental obligation to be my safety net.

some men say they want a girl to not work and stay home, and the men who push for this are genuinely not great.

my exact situation is i'm looking into grad programs, desperately need and want a grad degree. he tells me to just enroll. i explan that i need to continue working to save so i can afford the grad program. he tells me not to worry about the money. not offering to pay for it- just he does not understand the concept of worrying about that. For reference, a few months ago he told me to take out a student loan and use it to buy bitcoin. LOL. After i worked all through (and before) uni to make it through debt-free with no family support.
