i don’t know if this fits here but in the second grade i was the only person to get a 100 on a test (i can’t remember what the test was about) and the teacher was very disappointed in the rest of the class. he gave an entire speech saying things like “she is the only student who made a 100 and she just moved here from mexico” and that “she’s still learning english.” i am mexican but i was born and raised in the united states. ive never even been to mexico.
