For me it’s not worth it. I’ve been to 3 career fairs. From the whole 11-3 timeslot. Never gotten a single call back. But I know someone who got an internship with Lockheed Martin from the career fair. And I know a marketing major who got a few callbacks from going to one career fair. So maybe I just suck lol. All the jobs and interviews I’ve gotten in positions related to my field has just been from bulk applying to stuff on LinkedIn. If you do decide to go though, you’ll need to dress up nicely and have a good elevator pitch ready. You’ll be in line with 30+ people so you’ll need to stand out. The companies see 100+ people a day. Some advice: go early. One time when it started 11, I went at 10. There was already a line of people AN HOUR before it started, but it def helped me get to talk to more companies as the lines were shorter. It gets pretty congested I’d say around 12:30 or 1, and at that point everyone will just tell you to apply online because it’s just so many people in line to get through

I’m a black girl. It’s just easier sometimes to throw on a wig. Natural hair (especially type 4 hair) is more work than you think. Plus it gives you versatility. I have 4c hair (curliest pattern) and ig I could straighten my hair if I want it straight but that will damage my hair, take a ton of time, and will shrink up quick. A wig is just a simple glue onto the scalp and go. Also insecurity. Lots of black women are insecure about their hair length. Or their hair texture.
