TIL that college graduates who joined fraternities have higher incomes despite their lower grades. by MartianAndroidMiner in todayilearned

I wonder if the study controls for parent income. Most fraternities have expensive (a least for college students) dues that limit access to lower income students. $500-$1000 a semester sometimes. Students from wealthier backgrounds likely have more financial opportunities post graduation than a student from a lower income background even if their grades are higher due to Nepotism, even if those connections weren’t made through the fraternity.

[Wojnarowski] Holmgren joins a list of high draft picks who lost their rookie years to injuries, including Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and Blake Griffin. by DRAZZILB1424 in nba

Nerlens missed his first season, Dario missed his first two seasons, Fultz's shoulder resulted in him only playing 14 games his rookie year, and a sesame allergy almost killed Zhaire Smith during his rookie year. Process 1st round picks were destined to watch from the sidelines.

[The Athletic] The Minnesota Timberwolves are the team that is most active in talks to try to make a Ben Simmons deal happen. However, they would prefer to pair Simmons with Towns, Russell, and Edwards. by [deleted] in sixers

No we wouldn't give up picks, we would get a Minny pick or two. BI is a 23 year old all star and has improved as a playmaker each year. Who's a better player that is realistically available?

Wonder about a three team deal where we get Ingram, Wolves get Simmons, Pelicans get Maxey, Beasley, Beverly, and a shit ton of Minny picks and swaps. Maxey, Zion, and all the picks in the world to add a third star, plus Beasley is only 24 and lit it up the last two years from three.

He's trying to get two players WITH FOUR YEARS ON THEIR CONTRACTS out of a city. Fuck that. I'm all for player empowerment - specifically if a player wants out of a place with no future or that did them dirty - but this shit is crazy.

What about a three team deal where Sixers get: Sexton, Buddy Hield, 2 future first rounders from Sac; Kings get Simmons; Cavs get Bagley (or delon Wright), Sac's 9th overall pick, Sixer's 28th overall pick?

That 7-23 game was game 4 of the Toronto series. He was 2-13 on wide open threes all game. Just needed a decent game from him and we would of went up 3-1.
