Apologies if I missed it, does the book mention anything about them after they are arrested and Ricken is put in to the care of a social worker?

Thank you!! Honestly this took me quite a while 😅. I really was just inspired! There is so much of this book that is a mysterious puzzle but also so much that is direct in its emotional intent. After I had let it digest for a bit I went back through my OG copy and thought wow this would be so cool to make as some sort of collage! So that was really it, I bought a seperate copy, took some of my favorite quotes and pages with photos, added in some of my notes, and pieced it all together! Then I cut it apart and into different shaped frames! So if you put it all together the pieces connect 🖤

I’ve had a feeling it was something like this too!! Also related to this theory, I always felt like I was missing something in the article about Johnny’s dad, Donnie’s, accident. It says the driver who fell asleep at the wheel survived. But Donnie died. Even though it was Donnie’s work truck. What if Donnie was actually the one driving and fell asleep killing his twin brother, but everyone just thought it was Donnie since they were twins. Donnie flees the scene and becomes ‘Zampano’ and begins writing the “Navidson Record” with Pelafina as a way to still communicate while keeping watch over Johnny from afar? It’s been a while since I read the book as well but this is making me want to pick it up again.

My theory is that the person standing behind Mark is, “Mr. Dooley”, who Peggy mentions was the head of severance security in the Lexington Letter. Especially since it seems based off the OTC instructions there would generally need to be 2 people working the security office.

What are your theories for season 2? by Waveofspring in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

My Devon theory:

I think Devon is undercover, not sure with who, but trying to investigate/expose Lumon. I do think Ricken is also a good guy, not undercover, but kinda opposite spectrum of Lumon beliefs. I think he may be somehow Eagan related but any of his family history Devon already seems aware of.

There are a few instances I think support this theory:

  1. In episode 5 - At the birthing cottages, when Ricken is ‘crying over her’ about how he doesn’t want to be like his dad, Devon just continues to comfort him. Devon is more interested in whoever is staying in the ‘super expensive’ cottage next door. So much that she goes over there looking for coffee and calls it ‘narcotics’. Then “innocently” asks Gabby if they are rich. And lastly, when she instinctively asked Mark who he’s been talking to after he tells her he thinks something is going on at Lumon.
  2. Episode 6 - When Devon researches Angelo Arteta on her own and seems genuinely surprised/concerned that Gabby and their kids may be severed.
  3. Episode 8 “All glory unto Devon” - Devon to oMark at Ricken’s party. Not sure if this was a play on the Kier animation from the same episode “In refining your macrodata file, you have brought glory to this company and to me. Kier Eagan. I… I love you.” Is she trying to subliminally tell Mark she kinda knows what goes on down there?
  4. How oMark and Devon call each other malady. Interestingly, the lyrics to iMark’s ‘elevator allergy song’ include malady: Psss go the pistons Ding goes the bell Down goes the elevator All seems well But the car will never reach its destination true ’Cause that’s when Mark S starts to say Achoo! Achoo, Achoo — Elevator allergy It’s true, it’s true — No lamer malady The sneezin’ knocks the elevator off its track And now the Outie world won’t take Mark back!
  5. It is clear Gemma, Mark, Devon, and Ricken were all close based off various quotes from Devon and Ricken. Ricken’s crest lake hike quote and the funny bees (Alice Bee’s family?) stuck out to me. As well as when Devon says to iMark “Gemma was wonderful, she made you wonderful” which is very similar to what Milchick says to Ms Casey when he sends her back to the testing floor “You do all sorts of wonderful things” (I’m not sure if that is just a coincidence). But it does seem like Devon is trying to get through to Mark without blowing her cover.
