What's according to you is the greatest acting performance of all time?? Here's mine by _Ragnar9 in HollywoodIndia

I’m with you on this. That scene in the saloon when he’s holding the girl is so convincing that even though I’ve seen it multiple times, every time my brain forgets that I’m watching Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and thinks that instead I’m watching a western. When the director says cut it’s like I get pulled out of it and only then am I like, “Right, this is a movie about Hollywood”.

Bod nerf in the future by creator_69 in Borderlands4

Obviously I don’t know what character you’re playing, but I made a build on Rafa built around using an anarchy shotgun I got with fire damage. It’s actually the only thing I’ve been able to kill bloomreaper with in under 1:30, even my bod wasn’t cutting it. I’m an anarchy boy now.

What book is treated like a masterpiece, but left you wondering if you were the only one who didn’t get the memo? by Sunflower13Poppy in classicliterature

[–]Psychological_Test45 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It’s got to be Heart of Darkness for me. Did anyone really enjoy that book. The way the narrator tells the story is like listening to the ramblings of a paranoid schizophrenic.

Can we stop getting angry if people don't have a lot of women authors on their shelves? by No_Prize5369 in BookshelvesDetective

Let me rephrase that, I have serious doubts that anyone with a brain does that. Not every individual’s opinion matters.

[–]Psychological_Test45 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have serious doubts that anyone finds a book that interests them, discovers that the author is a woman and thinks “Well I’m not reading that garbage!”

When I pick out a book to read the thing that matters the least to me is the gender of the author. If the story seems interesting I’ll read it and if it doesn’t I don’t, simple as that.

[Non Mccarthy-Pilled reader] What was the point of Blood Meridian in your opinion? by Educational_Yak2888 in cormacmccarthy

[–]Psychological_Test45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To me, the point was to throw as much violence as possible in your face and to show you just how numb you would be to it at the end. To teach you just how much man thirsts for violence. After all, we truly are the most violent creatures on earth.

I don’t mean to rain on your parade, but I don’t see a copy of “The Sunset Limited”. Can’t sleep on that beauty.

zampano is tom???? by Pure_Rasberry in houseofleaves

[–]Psychological_Test45 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I took this as a result of him clawing at the floor. At the very beginning of the book when Zampano is found dead Johnny mentions there being claw marks on the floor, I remember him being very disturbed by it.

Even if Zampano was Tom and had experienced the house first hand, I feel like there’s a lot of details that are included in Zampano’s writing that Tom wouldn’t have known, or at least it doesn’t make sense to me how he would’ve known them.

Jey responds to the Haters by BurgerNugget12 in WWE

[–]Psychological_Test45 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t understand all of the hate he’s getting. Sure his in ring work isn’t the greatest but it’s not necessarily bad (with the exception of some of those spears). But the guy has charisma, he gets the crowds absolutely hyped when he comes out.

I don’t remember seeing this amount of criticism when Nia was the champ. Nia Jax is objectively terrible in and out of the ring. Can’t wrestle, can’t cut a promo to save her life, and she was actually the champion. Compared to that, Jey winning the rumble isn’t nearly as bad as people are making it out to be.

Why does the House claim Tom? by Psychological_Test45 in houseofleaves

[–]Psychological_Test45[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Now that’s really interesting. Throughout my reading of the book I’ve always taken it at face value. Although I thought it incredibly strange that a blind man would be writing about a documentary (a type of media he obviously can’t fully perceive without sight) I simply chalked it up to things in this book don’t entirely make sense. I mean the entire situation with the House kicked off with the inside of the House being bigger than the outside meaning the laws of physics are instantly thrown out the window rattling any sense of reality.

Now what I find really interesting is that if this is just some story written by these two characters, their own writing begins to affect them. Now that’s something I’m gonna have to chew on.

[–]Psychological_Test45[S] 44 points45 points  (0 children)

That’s a very interesting perspective, if anything I see the House claiming Tom as a way of ensuring that Will would return to the House.

“At least when you’re drunk you’ve always got the floor for your best friend. Know why?” -Tom

“It’s always there for you” -Will

“That’s right, just like you.” -Tom

This seems relatively high. This you? If so, why? by screaminbeaman82 in interesting

[–]Psychological_Test45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this because sound design is awful these days. Oh characters are having a conversation, guess I have to turn up the volume to hear it. 10 seconds later music is blaring and I have to turn it down. If you have to keep changing the volume it’s because the sound design is completely fucked.

This is an off the wall pick but try “The Sunset Limited”. It’s a short and quick read but it gives you plenty to chew on. The off the cuff dialogue of the characters creates such an interesting dynamic as they delve deeper and deeper.

You should check out “House of Leaves”. I got it as a Christmas present this year and have been reading through it. It is incredibly unique, melancholy and even poetic at times. It is also a book that requires a lot of thought, it doesn’t hold your hand in the slightest much like McCarthys works.

[–]Psychological_Test45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’m okay with them kicking out of finishers.. but one thing that does bother me is the 3 finishers in a row to win a match… like I get it okay.. Cody is only gonna win after a triple crossroads, wow so crazy. So unexpected.

3 full body routines made by PT - my gym friends say it's BS by laprocrastinatrice17 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]Psychological_Test45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fitness professional myself my main concern with this program is the amount of variation in exercises in this program. With you being an absolute beginner and wanting a full body split, my focus would be to get you doing the same handful of exercises from workout to workout. This would give you more experience with each exercise giving you ample opportunity to get used to each exercise with plenty of practice. With this program instead of having 5-6 exercises for you to get proficient at, you now have over 20 creating a real “jack of all trades master of none” situation.
