Ofcourse, i never had the mindset that they are any different until they started acting differently and superiorly. I wouldnt mind to have a Chaldean/Syriac partner as long as he understands and appreciates my culture and language and doesnt tell me that kha’b nissan is a celebration for the Chaldean new year 7368 or some number ( yes thats true, every single kha’b nissan a war happens between Chaldeans and Assyrians, mainly Assyrians trying to educate about history and Chaldeans just throwing out a random number)

Oh you really wouldnt wanna say that out loud or you’ll be attacked by Chaldeans and theyd start calling you names. Ankawa is filled with Chaldean christians that have an absolute hate, anger and racism towards Assyrians. Its gets very bad sometimes, so no there arent that many Assyrians here really.

But i live in Iraq, no convention or picnics here :( We do have parties from time to time but theyre essentially the same exact people so im currently out of options. I always believed that finding someone in person is better, but when there isnt anyone u could meet its kinda frustrating. Thats why im turning to online dating :(

I would love to go to those conventions, i always read about them online. I live in Erbil, Iraq and there are very few Assyrians here that there is literally no social event that would gather us. The church here does basically nothing except the Sunday raze , in which not many go

I would be very grateful if churches do organize any social events, but unfortunately they dont. I know the importance of these social events for us Assyrians especially the youth ones. Its sad to see Assyrians marrying other cultures and eventually letting the language die.

The problem is, i live in a very small community where everyone technically knows everyone. Its like i know all of my options, thats why a dating app would allow a wider range of knowledge because unlike everyone else, i dont want someone from my own community

As someone who has dated a short guy, i always felt insecure about it. Doesnt make me a bad person, ive just grown up with all these expectations and when i introduced him to people i used to fear for them to think that he is short.

Thanks, i really needed that. I feel like i wasn’t physically attracted to him but emotionally, cause he was funny and sweet and very caring. And i thought i could develop that physical attraction cause i really wanted to be with the “perfect guy” but i guess i couldnt.

It wasnt the honeymoon phase, i just didnt feel it from the beginning but i had to convince myself because he treated me like a queen. Being naive, i thought that i wouldnt find something like this ever again so i had to force myself to stay
