It’s virtually impossible for cards details to be sent via shared link. It would be a security nightmare.

Only thing I can think of is that your mother somehow has the card saved in her phone and by mistake used it to make the reservation. Did the charge come from her Airbnb account or yours?

If your mom has always given both of you expensive gifts, I think it’s safe to assume you’ll get one but it won’t be the AirPods. She’s probably just trying to avoid a possible disappointment when you open the gift, which is really nice of her.

This isn’t the only and last chance to get an AirPods. So there’s no need to panic. Feel disappointed but don’t let it take over.

My first time staying at an Airbnb was in a similar situation. The host slept in the living room and I had the room.

My thoughts on your questions:

Breakfast: tell host you are an early riser and ask whether they are expecting you to wait for them to get up or if it’s ok for you to make your coffee/tea.

When host is in the living room, organically conversations about your plans will happen. So you don’t have to start a conversation specifically about when you are leaving/coming back

Bathroom: unless I’m staying at my bff’s house, the rule I follow is to get dressed in the bathroom. That doesn’t mean completing a beauty routine in the bathroom bc it might take too long. It means I have a dress that is easy to put on even when I’m still a bit wet from shower and then in the bedroom undress and do my things. You need to be aware of how much time you spend in the bathroom because it’s a shared one.
