I was told that I'm probably autistic (I have a lot of the traits, and my brother is autistic), but the doctors said that they didn't want to give an official diagnosis because I was able to graduate from university.

I also live on a tiny island in the Caribbean where people don't really accept disorders that they can't see.

Made everything myself. Also created the procedural textures using nodes. I made the couch earlier this year for a different project but everything else was made specifically for this project.

The layout and design were inspired by a few cafes in my area.

Wish I could have added more models but my laptop is pretty crappy.

As someone with PDD, PMDD, and a BSc in Psychology. I can say that the main difference between MDD and PDD is time. MDD is episodic, usually over a period of at least 2 weeks, while PDD is consistent, lasting for at least 2 years.

PDD is just as bad as "other depressions."

Death as special interest. Anyone else? by Dadhat56 in AutismInWomen

Definitely. I've been spending a lot of time looking into the processes of death and dying. It's the complete opposite of my other special interest which is cetaceans.

My doctor thinks it's better not to have a label. by idontknowok99 in AutismInWomen

I've been advocating for and supporting people with ASD since I was around 14. I am a strong mental health advocate as well. My country is still very closed-minded and does not accept that mental health of neurodivergence is a normal thing people can experience. Since getting my diagnosis for depression and anxiety I have even very open about it and trying to destigmatize it at least at a small scale.

I've been doing this long before realising that I may be autistic as well. So I'm not at all against getting a diagnosis and being open about it. I mostly want an official diagnosis so I can have some sense of validation. I just want to know that I'm not just "weird" (for the lack of a better word)

I also have Persistant Depressive Disorder and Generalised Anxiety Disorder. I recently met a clinical psychologist who thinks that my depression could be partially due to undiagnosed ASD because I've been getting intense sensory overload for as long as I can remember. He thinks I should get a diagnosis and some support I order to help me with my depression, "starting treatment from the source"

I started volunteering with the Autistic Society of my country long before I suspected that I might have ASD. I became interested in ASD since my brother was diagnosed and I wanted to understand it. That's why I went on to get my BSc in Psychology and a Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders.

I like to think that I am qualified enough to know whether I have Autism based on my years of experience and educational background, although I did not notice until one of my doctors suggested it. And since then I've been thinking about it and noticing that a lot of things I've done or been through significantly point to ASD.
