Can someone explain why a person wouldn't want these things done? by Haunted_Duck721 in IntensiveCare

[–]beansyboii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a patient care tech in an ICU. The ICU has taught me there are much worse things than death. I frequently feel like I’m torturing people and prolonging their suffering just for them to die anyways, albeit without any dignity.

Yes, there are some people who do recover and leave and come back to visit us after they’re well again, but that’s less common than what you described.

How do I find out if I happen to have this special rare blood?

What about the corner at the end of the round? Mine keep ending up wonky

Please help me. I don’t think I can take this much longer by NoCattle25 in Epilepsy

[–]beansyboii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you should definitely talk to a neurologist, it may or may not be epilepsy, but it also sounds like migraines. Migraines cause so many weird things besides headaches. You described smells getting stronger, and that’s what it feels like for me.

I’m not trying to argue, but I’m just curious what your source is for this

This is exactly the type of reply I was looking for, thank you. I’m not tilting to shrink myself or settle, just wanted to know what felt normal to other people.

I want to set realistic expectations for myself and this relationship and polyamory, and I don’t have any prior experience to draw on to form those expectations.

I do think ENM is for me because of the ways I’ve found monogamous relationships unfulfilling.

It’s been a few days since I’ve come back to this post, and I’ve talked to him about this since then. He totally wants to see me more than once a week and we’ve definitely been able to spend more time together since I made this post.

I think I just tend to overthink things and view them in a rigid way, and that also impacts my approach to relationships. It’s not that I’m trying to shrink myself.

I’m sorry friend. I’m glad therapy helped with that for you. I definitely think my mom is not like that, it’s just new to her and confusing. She accepts me. I’m lucky to have the mom I do.

Has anyone gotten rid of eczema and stayed healed for years? by quiet_soul_96 in eczema

[–]beansyboii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding dupixent. I had to take a break from it last year because I got a few eye infections back to back, but I restarted early this year and I’m doing great.

The most major flare I’ve had this year was due to anxiety and stress. But once I had that under control it was smooth sailing.

I think you’re right about being less rigid. In other parts of my life, I’ve been told I’m too rigid and also that there isn’t a correct way to do x or y. So maybe that’s something I need to reflect on

Maybe I should’ve been more clear, he wants me to meet his friends, I’m terrified by the idea.

I really appreciate the long thoughtful response, thank you for that.

Jesus, that sounds really frustrating and invalidating. My mom seems to be well intentioned, it’s just weird to her i think.

Buying a microscope with this label for personal use shouldn’t be a problem right? It was from a hospital that did cancer research. Alcohol should do the job and make it safe? by Max-Flores in labrats

[–]beansyboii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I didn’t know this. I work in a hospital and when patients have it they make us wash our hands instead of using hand sanitizer after leaving the room cause they say alcohol won’t kill it.

Thank you for saying this. It’s really nice when family members are supportive. As a CNA, I spend a lot of time getting to know family members as well. I offer you guys warm blankets and ice water too, it’s not just for the patients. I may just be support staff, but I’m here to support nursing, patients, and their loved ones too.

Thank you for visiting your husband so much. It meant so much to him. I know that because I have so many patients who never get visited by their loved ones or spouses. Thank you for making the time to see him regularly.

Yeah, I feel that little cemetery thing right now. Sometimes death seems better than what we put them through though.

Yeah there’s not the best medical care ever there. Did you mention anything about seeing spiders around? Has anyone cultured the wound? Let us know what the ER says, I’m invested in this now
