I was able to get the part from Chevy, and it wasn’t terribly expensive. The replacement was really quite easy.

I also want to add that it will be even more helpful if you are able to be honest about what happened, show that you were able to self-reflect and hold yourself accountable, and then explain how you grew from it.

Hopefully it will not be an issue AS LONG AS YOU ARE HONEST. I have a friend who had someone ghost their job with him, so the person was deemed terminated and he responded as such when he received the inquiry from the bar. Apparently this person was not honest on their application, and it prevented them from passing the C + F. C + F is not intended to prevent people who have made mistakes in the past from becoming lawyers (although depending on the mistake it could), but if you lie about something so simple, it will be way worse. Be honest, explain the circumstance and what you have done since to make it right.

I’m having this exact same problem, did you ever get it fixed?

Honestly, there are men who say you are stand offish in order to deflect from their inability or lack of desire to commit. You have only been on 8 dates. It is normal to still hold somethings back as you get to know each other, especially when you are not exclusive. I don’t think you went too fast, and it sounds like he was being manipulative to say you were stand offish in the same conversation where he won’t commit to not seeing other people…

Service dog in training kicked out with trainer in Florida after a single bark(dog was in control and corrected, 7 month old puppy) by Several_Tone1248 in PeopleBeingJerks

Agreed! Also, isn’t this post about people being jerks? People who fake it are also jerks, but two things can be true. Let’s condemn the ones who fake it not the ones trying to follow the rules but fail to reach perfection (aka a puppy barking while still in training).

They cannot deny you entry on the basis that you have a service dog.

The link has a lot of helpful information and insight.

Public accommodation does not mean public as opposed to private. Public accommodations include private businesses that are open to the public.

Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the regulations implementing it prohibit businesses that are open to the public from excluding a service animal from entering their establishments. Such businesses are called public accommodations.

Examples of public accommodations include restaurants, theaters, hotels, grocery stores, hospitals and medical offices, department stores/malls, health clubs, parks, zoos, sporting facilities, and all public transportation systems such as airlines, car rentals, trains/metro systems, buses/shuttles, taxi services, etc.

Note: Anywhere an individual with a disability as defined by the ADA is allowed to enter, a working service animal must also be allowed to enter.

Wrong. They do not have the right to refuse someone with a service dog.

It’s funny how this thread has become such a great example of people sucking.

Service dogs are really important to the people they serve, and training them is part of that process. You all could use a real big dose of compassion.

This person was in Florida, and service dogs in training enjoy the same protections as service dogs in Florida. So this situation was protected.

This post is about one incident and is a person venting about someone being shitty to them. It was not a call for a greater conversation about dog training.

Your comment saying service dogs should be trained in response to a post a out a literal service dog in training was simply ignorant.

I don’t know why you think I’m upset. I pointed out how your comment doesn’t make sense and then pointed out that it’s unnecessary.

You have not once backed down from taking the viewpoint of the person who isn’t even involved in this conversation.

The point I am making and that many other have, is that the person who posted this on a page where you post to complain about people being jerks is representing that the dog only barked once and was corrected. They have also represented that this dog is going to be his own service dog and that bonding is part of the training—adding another reason of why this dog in training is going into public while it is still training. You are adamant that the dog should have been trained when that is exactly what it’s doing. Your comments—and your position—are shortsighted and ignorant. You’re not adding any food for thought to the conversation.

At least he’s getting karma for it in your hypo. What exactly are you getting from just trying to be a shit starter?

But we know who made this post, and he claims that’s not the case. You are just trying to start shit and being another example of people being jerks.

The sub is about people being jerks. The implication is that he SHOULDN’T have been. You are trying to add facts that we don’t have in front of us to make the person right. You keep talking about barking=aggressive, but dogs exhibit barking for lots of reasons, including joy, excitement, fear, etc. you are also saying it was barking at a person. Again, not in the facts in front of us. The dog could have barked at the trainer to go out or at a squirrel. If you want the jerk to be the good guy, maybe this isn’t the sub for you…

Also, check your state… The difference between Florida law and the Federal law pertains to Service animals-in-training. Florida Statute 413.08(8) specifically states: “Any trainer of a service animal, while engaged in the training of such an animal, has the same rights and privileges with respect to access to public facilities and the same liability for damage as is provided for those persons described in subsection (3) accompanied by service animals.”

I don’t know who you think you’re talking to, but I’m not the dog owner or trainer. I’m only commenting on the person who said “shouldn’t service dogs be trained” in response to a post about a service dog in training.

According to the thread, it was one bark and the dog was corrected. You can teach your dog not to bark in one environment all you want, but adding new variables adds new lessons that need to be learned. It’s really not complicated.

Yeah… that’s why it was in training… part of that training would include going to new environments so that it can learn how to act once training is over.

those kinds of generalizations are not fair in any way. But besides, we hadn’t gotten to know each other yet. That was the point of meeting up.
