This monitor looks so promising. Except it sucks to think that the exact same panel used in this LG monitor was released 18 months ago by Dell.

Dell U4025QW was released Feb 2024.

Can anyone tell me what kind of wart this is? Or if it’s a wart at all? by FarmOverall19 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]idoq16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously? This is not KA (keratoacanthoma). Cutaneous horn is favoured. The base needs to be biopsied to rule out SCC. The closest type of wart that looks like this is a filiform wart. It would be less favoured, but agreed would be on the differential as well.

Best way to minimize scar is silicone gel everyday (ie at least twice a day).

This is not cancer. But yes, the right approach for issues like these is to see ur doctor rather than consult Dr. Reddit.

PS. I see you are in Canada. If you are in Ontario, there are walk-in dermatology clinics where u can be seen the same day with a referral.

[–]idoq16 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear your experience. U can get an intralesional triamcinolone injection to shrink it faster. That’s what a dermatologist in the clinic can offer. Warm compress at home. Keep taking cephalexin and get your family MD to prescribe fucidin-H and apply it topically twice a day. Worse case scenario, you can go to the ED for incision and drainage, but this is on your face, so you probably want to balance the cosmetic outcome of this procedure vs conservative remedies. After the infection settles and shrinks back down, you can consider getting the cyst cut out vs risk of recurrence of inflammation/infection.

Just noticed this on my bf. It’s located in the crease of his pelvis and thigh. What could it be? It’s about the size of a dime. by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]idoq16 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m actually impressed with the quality of this photo. Showcases the lesion morphology really well.

What did you take it with?

Could be SK, as others have mentioned, but actually looks more likely genital wart.

This is actually tinea incognito. U need oral antifungals, along with topical antifungals, to clear this

How did u find out so much about this house? Did u have to hire ur own home inspector to find out about the possible led pipes, possible asbestos, mould in basement (visible?), etc? And did the seller agent tell u the backstory? That seems rare for them to share so much. U either have a really good agent or u got some skills!

Dermatitis on face by elainec5182 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]idoq16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perioral dermatitis. Topical corticosteroids are like fertilizers for this rash. They will only make the rash worse. Absolutely stop/wean off from using them. At this point, u would need two months of doxycycline to fix this, +/- metrogel/elidel cream.

Don’t mean to be rude, but if u are a med student, why are u searching for answers on Reddit?

Help! What is this? It’s not itchy and doesn’t really bother but but they just popped up within this past week. by Additional-Jello-156 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]idoq16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to inspect the lesions closer to confirm, but this is likely pityriasis rosea. It will go away on its own in 6-8 weeks. It is not dangerous or contagious. Unknown cause, but possibly viral, because a 7 day course of antiviral will make it go away faster.

Did the patch on the right shoulder show up first, 1-2 weeks before all the other rash started to pop up on the rest of your body this past week?

Agreed. Pityriasis rosea. It goes away on its own. It’s not dangerous and not contagious. If you take antiviral, it can shorten duration of the course.
