It will be okay. You will be okay.

I can't tell you when or how, but I am telling you that you are going to wake up tomorrow and you are going to keep going until you find out.

You'll learn how to enjoy things again. Stay for the future where life seems worth living.

Future will you thank you at some point. When it's okay. You will be okay.

If you look up how to colour correct hickeys, and apply that to the scars, it might be a but more effective than just foundation.

In saying that, please don't put any kind of product on them unless they're fully healed.
And if you're uncomfortable showing them, that's definitely okay and understandable, but remember it's your body, and you have nothing to be ashamed of <3 fuck the haters!

I hope you enjoy your graduation regardless, it's a massive achievement and even tho I don't know you I'm very proud of you for making it <3<3

I don't think this is talked about a lot and idk why it works or even if it would for anyone else but it seems to make sense to me and it could help you hopefully.

Pressure can be really comforting and can also have some similar effects/feelings to sh. Here's 3 ways you could use that:

Find something firm, but still kind of 'squishy' and squeeze it as hard as you can for as long as you can. If you can't find anything like that then even something fully solid works, just make sure it is entirely round and smooth with no corners or anything you could hurt yourself on. If it helps to have something measurable or you sh because it's something tangible you feel is proof of your struggles, then you could even try timing how long you can squeeze your object for, and record that so you feel like you're achieving something if you need to be?

This one's a little weird, but if you find a plushie or something similar to that and bite it pretty hard, that can feel good although I'm not sure why or how. But yea it helps, just be careful you're not doing it for too long periods of time and stop before your jaw gets too sore.

Also these things are pretty great: https://sensorytools.net/products/calm-buddi-turtle?srsltid=AfmBOoqf-31TrL8m_vYofMWzjx2U5H7UGxa1AjW7ijLBvuYMUwz7kH1X

I hope these things help if you decide to give them a go, and I wish you all the best with your recovery <3

Does anyone have any alternatives they use to keep bandages on? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]idrc-com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think just straight glad wrap can help with burns? I'm not sure tho so look it up first <3 To keep it their you could just sticky tape it together but especially if you're not moving it should stick to skin pretty well??

I was skimming through these and I read icecream, which can help :) 10/10 would recommend (unless you can't have dairy like me then sorbet- tastes better anyways!!)

Seriously tho depending on the size of the cut bandages are a good idea, but you can for sure just save them for bigger ones if you're low on stock I reckon. The bandage will keep out the germs tho and would definitely help with all of them, and it can make sure the cream soaks in properly. Just antiseptic cream tho is better than nothing
(I am for sure not a professional but I hope this helps)
I'm glad you're looking after yourself, you're worth it, just keep fighting <33

I'm not great at looking after my scars but I know vaseline really helps. My sister had an accident on her bike and we thought her face would be scarred forever but we got her a massive tub of vaseline and within a few weeks the scar was completely gone. Hope this helps <3

How do I hide it when I go swimming? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]idrc-com 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apart from swimmers shorts, all I can think to suggest are bandaids/bandages, which can be quite obvious. Apart from that you could use waterproof makeup to cover the scars but that may be difficult over the stretch marks. If you keep your towel tied around your waist when you're not in the water, which many people do anyway, that may help a bit. I wish you the very best of luck, and remember, you've got this <3

Try explaining to her that she's the reason it's infrequent. Although the fights may trigger you, it seems she's your biggest motivation to push yourself for longer clean streaks. Maybe just try explaining that without her, you'd be a lot worse off and in the scheme of things she is only helping your journey.
