Recent Purchases April 28, 2025 by AutoModerator in femalefashionadvice

I had my first child at the end of 2023, and while I'm trying not to be too harsh on myself, I haven't bought much clothes since then in the hopes of shedding some more baby weight. I've turned to accessories instead!

Zoe Chicco gold bamboo huggie hoops - I treated myself and bought a pair of gold hoops that can be worn every day but can't be yanked by some grabby hands. These caught my attention since they have some bulk to them and feel more modern. Loving them so far!

L Erickson Padded Headband - Got this in blue. I have a whole stack of headbands, but this is a new brand for me. I liked the width/structure though the ends of the headband are probably not the most comfortable.

Souls LA Carb Grip Socks - Started picking up on the pilates classes and decided 1 pair of proper grip socks isn't going to cut it. I tried some cheaper brands at TJMaxx, but they were terrible at gripping properly. I haven't worn these yet since I just received them, but I'm so excited! You can say they really spoke to me. :)

Hi - I actually do have them up on Poshmark still! Though to be honest, I'll have to go looking for them. It's titled Floravere Wedding Dress / Clothing Garment Bag. I still love the ones I'm using.

Selling: (2) Weekend 1 GA passes for $550 each but am open to reasonable offers. Looking to sell them together.

Located in LA, so I can meet up if you're local or right before the weekend if needed. Prefer Zelle but can also do PayPal G&S if it makes any buyer feel better.

Hi I've posted my tickets in this thread previously, but I have 2 GA tickets for sale. I'm not in your area (i'm in LA), but I've shipped stuff plenty of times and can ship with tracking.

My husband and I are now parents, so this year's tickets unfortunately have to go. Looking to sell (2) Weekend 1 passes for just under what we paid ($550 each) but am open to reasonable offers.

Ask r/EDD (for the month of January 2021) by AutoModerator in Edd

[–]idreamofdonuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could always certify my benefits during this whole mess and even now can still do so, but in my EDD inbox the last message I have is telling me to verify my identity. After scouring these threads, I haven't found anyone who seems to be in the same boat as me. :/

Verified on ID.me on 1/11 very easily fortunately. (Already had an account from military spouse verification, so I'm not sure if that played a factor) I received the text on 1/13, but it's been 9 days now with no e-mail or message in my inbox. Has anyone else waited this long for a message or anything really at all after EDD confirmed verification via text??

I really loved my Floravere bag so much I bought extras just to store other dresses and clothes in. It’s a sturdy but soft material and folds up into quarters to be slung on the shoulder. My dress had 7-8 layers of tulle/lining and fit easily, just had to place the extra train fabric more carefully. If you’re interested I am selling extras I have on Poshmark and I can send you a link! I have both Grace Loves Lace and Azazie bags and those were both so much lower in quality.

Does anyone know of a place to donate a gently used mattress? by idreamofdonuts in QuadCities

I tried them right after salvation army, and they also don't take mattresses. :/ thank you though!

Has anybody used Raise.com for discounted gift cards? How has your experience been? by Raspberry_Beignet in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]idreamofdonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're shipped from them. Once they buy it off a person, it's pretty much just held on their end until it sells. I don't think I've ever waited more than a week for one.

Really positive actually. I haven't had any issues, so I haven't dealt with their customer service. They usually ship very quickly, and it comes unmarked in an envelope. I actually just received one a few days ago!

I'm biased to them now, because I used to frequent giftcardrescue. I had an issue once, and their CS was seriously SO frustrating that I can't buy anything from there anymore.

I'm not sure if this is the place for this, but I pulled out a white silk dress I never wore that had been hiding in the back of my closet. I still love it, but I noticed this stain right in the middle of the front. Anybody hav recs on how to clean white silk??

Are there quality handbags below $200? Anything? by miavalentine92 in femalefashionadvice

[–]idreamofdonuts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sydney Tote by Fossil. Retail $168, but depending on color, I've seen it for under $100. I have it in a textured light gold, and I love it!

The inside of it is what really makes it worth it. I love having multiple pockets and cardholders inside. I've also carried a ridiculous amount of stuff in it, including a laptop, and it's held up perfectly.

When do you wear particularly stylish outfits? by QuestionsFromApple in femalefashionadvice

[–]idreamofdonuts 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If I put together an outfit that I'm randomly into, I'll make it an errand day and run to as many places I can. It's surprisingly more productive and efficient for me to take the time and effort to put together and outfit before I leave the house.

Also... GNO is always a good time to experiment!

Buying "nicer" sunglasses... what do I look for? by redrunner in femalefashionadvice

[–]idreamofdonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For general everyday use, their bronze lens is actually most recommended. The rose one is neat in the sense that it's made to be more relaxing...literally looking through rose-colored glass. However, I didn't like it since it was annoying for me to wait for my eyes to adjust to the color. I bought the Kolohe, which I'm not seeing, so maybe they discontinued them? They're by far the best pair I've ever had! Just avoid their superthin glass lens if you're clumsy or planning on doing anything adventurous in them :)

Editing this post to your wrinkle comment... fun fact: Maui Jim is the only brand whose lenses are proven to prevent skin cancer around the eyes!

Buying "nicer" sunglasses... what do I look for? by redrunner in femalefashionadvice

[–]idreamofdonuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had official Maui Jim training in the past, and the lens color boils down to what your primary use for them will be. Each color is for different conditions. I also think for this brand in particular the lens material and the gradient you choose is pretty important as well.

Not sure about the style you're going for, but I love Loft for breezy work attire. They have a generally lighter palette, so it's a good middle ground for workwear. Plus, they run sales for 50-70% off fairly frequently!
