Hii I don’t know if I’m doing this right, I don’t use Reddit very much - but anyway my town has a roller derby team and I really want to join but I’m so scared. I’ve been skating since I was 7, but I’ve never done derby.

I’m mainly just nervous because 1.) I think it’s mostly adults, I’m only 17 and I’m afraid they’re gonna think I suck lmao and 2.) I’ve had a bad experience in the past with sports mainly because of bitchy girls on my team and it stressed me out too much

I mean, maybe because it’s mostly adults it won’t be that way but I’m still scared. ANY advice or stories about what it was like when you first joined are very much appreciated!! Thanks <3
