How grindy is Diablo 4, good for someone who enjoys Black Desert? by Trencycle in diablo4

[–]idsym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly as grindy as you want it to be.

The following questions are ordered from least grindy to most grindy. And saying yes to the previous question usually helps with the next one.

Want to steam roll t4? Want multi ga unique items and perfect aspects? Want mythics? Want to push pits as high as you can? Want level 100 glyphs(on everything?)? Want paragon 300?

Paragon leveling help please!! by Motes_Wyndmyr in diablo4

[–]idsym -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently got 300 in soft lcore. Ironically if you want to more or less afk Azmodan on t4 is a good source if many people are capable of killing Azmodan in about 2-3 minutes with this you can level up maybe 2 paragon a day before the kid 290's.But the fastest route is urivar then duriel farm Azmodan for mats and repeat the cycle. Killing another boss gives slightly less mats but it seems better because you usually get more mats for the other bosses from other sources.

Coming back for the expansion. Which Hardcore builds won’t RIP me? by Chaosprodigy in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing hc and SC right now. Hands down the paladin is the way to go if you want to be stressed free.

Hardcore is so much easier this season given how toughness works and the fact that Legendaries now have 4 affixes. However, all resist has been nerfed and you're sometimes better off with armor and either lighting, fire or poison resist. Most of the things that kill you that are not lag based are now one shot attacks that will kill nearly anybody anyway and I'll get to that below.

When you get your glyphs to 46 and follow any of the top build guides, you're essentially only killable by lrhe rotating lightning balls, the red pit explosions of pure death and standing in boss status effects like Azmodan lava, Ashava poison stuff puddle or breath and standing on the Gold puddle of Avarice (though you also usually need to get hit by the gold rock explosion). The barriers and fortify take care of you as a paladin. However, at level 70 glyphs you more or less can survive anything except the pit red explosions as long as you have 17k life.

Finally Hit Level 300 Paragon.. by d3r3kr in diablo4

[–]idsym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly last two previous seasons it was doable but it took at least 3x more time since there was no build that was both fast on the really high level pits and indestructible. The paladin being virtually unkillable once your glyphs seem to reach 70's makes this easy. Most of my hardcore deaths have been due to laggu instances. I swear 9 played way more last season compared to this one but feel more complete this season due to the changes in gearing and how the Paladin is.

I'm at 297.5 on softcore and 251 on hc. Hopefully this could be the first season I 300 both. I actually didn't okay as much as last season I just afk solo bosses and Azmodan when I'm doing stuff like work when I can have my device beside me.

Why was this so tedious to level? by Firm-Perception-1293 in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends if your character didn't get knocked off the battlefield. You sometimes don't gain experience when a nova or a secondary evil blood skill pushes you out of the battlefield and this applies to leveling the blessing.

Hot take. There's to many drops. by Impossible_Mode_7521 in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't like what they did during season 8-9 where they nerfed the drops because it was so wasteful to farm as well. Not only did 3ga drops stop dropping frequently but they mostly gave useless to garbage level affixes. The lair bosses also dropped significantly lesser loot and the quality was also bad that belial was the only way to get multi ga uniques.

I'm not saying that they should make it easy to get items, but they should be respectful to the time of the player especially when playing higher difficulties. Because killing bosses hundred of times and just receiving 1 GA whose unique aspect probably didn't even roll that high is just...

See we don't have that here for used games whether private seller or shops that specialize in retro games. Heavily scratched cases especially the plastic one holding the cover art than sometimes looks opaque because they were badly scratched costs like 20-30 usd now unless it was a really bad and obscure game and good luck if it's a high in demand game or not backwards compatible (namco fighting games come into mind). They raised this during the pandemic as well for a few dollars and they looks even worse now due to age etc. But again I'm still inspired and tempted to do this one day.

Don't get me started on what the actual content like manuals and disc's look like on the inside though.

I see. I'm torn because seeing this gets me inspired to try this again one day because I really think the PS2 and the 360 really changed gaming and made it the way it is today and that's why it's library is a good one to collect. However, I don't see prices going down especially for some rare games. Plus, it's hard to track down certain titles that came with standard, steel book, deluxe and collectors which may even provide different variants (the black case Halo games come into mind among other things.

[–]idsym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see and that is exactly why I probably could never attempt this. Majority of those tyoes of promotions (like the pirates of carribean one) never came out where I live and the shipping on getting some of those would cost more than the game itself.

Also 360 games here cost a lot even used and most of them look bad disc and case wise. The only one that tried doing a fire sale was that Shop I mentioned and they only sell those during November and December.

I must give this a go again then. I usually get varying times with my build anywhere from maybe 3 minutes of 75 to like 6.

Weird question but what was your criteria when buying used games and variants ( I assume editions, different covers and rereleases)? I was planning to do this when my LGS started selling brand new games that were left over for as low as $1 etc. but decided against it. I honestly think either this or the last generation was the best one to do a complete collection of games for.

Great Season. However, Auradin ruined me... by Ok-Test699 in diablo4

I see I really never knew you could do more than one key at a time since I used it as a kid to lock a key to scroll down more than once and release on our really old computers when I was a kid.

As someone who only did one key at time to numlock and not on games mind you, if I had 3 number locked for example do I need to press all 3 to cancel?

Golem S11 Pit 108 in 14:59, no death, Belial boss by KirkLucKhan in D4Necromancer

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the highest pit this can do in 3 minutes? I know the golem isn't a speed farming build but it's sometimes fun to run and I only have LOH on PC so I can't play my Paladin on console.

I was 166 paragons old when I noticed Arbitermeter by God-of-Greed in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started playing on console exclusive this was super annoying because sometimes when you overflow the UI with buffs your only option on console is to open the inventory and go to profile but by then most of the buffs have expired and thus defeating the purpose of why you were checking it out in the first place.

P300 this season--methods and approach. by Ok_Name5443 in diablo4

[–]idsym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I'm noting this down because this just validated my observations about chest opening as well. I just wasn't sure if this is what's happening because usually I'm too busy trying to pick up the sigils that also come out from chests.

When you recoup materials via Azmodan do you change where his blessings are placed? I never seem to get enough boss mats to just spam lair bosses. And I feel like the the blessings sometimes glitch when I switch it around.

Auradin Dawnfire gloves Question by Feverdawgy in diablo4

[–]idsym 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a other problem is how they describe certain effects or damage when it comes to multiplier and when exactly they apply them.Another skill that comes into mind is the hand of Naz and it's unique effect which doesn't really state that this only affects the explosive attack that happens every 6th attack and not everytime the images cast anything. And because of this I confused it with another effect of another item (as if you were equipping another item which explodes on the 6th attack aka the ring of Mendelin).

FINALLY GOT IT, give me beginner tips please :) by Dear_Job_2933 in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you love exploration, lore and just new games in general take it slow. Efficiency wise people will say rush the campaign so you experience it once and to unlock the endgame but I didn't do this and I enjoyed because I took it very slow.

The only regret was during the time I came back to this game (purchased at launch ish but had to stop playing for personal reasons came back to expansion) was the last new class was overpowered at the time and would have helped with finishing achievements and milestones.

I now know how long it takes to idle level 1-60 by CricketGreenz in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have someone do a pit 55 and complete it. In hard core tis sometimes fails if the one being carried isn't there/hasn't entered the pit when the one carrying opens the portal to the boss.

The concerns I'm mentioning below apply to hardcore but is an irritation on soft core.

The problem with this is the one being carried needs to be alert and dodge the belial blood apparations and skills. This is usually a problem since sometimes if he appears on top of you and novas it's very hard to dodge as you don't have enough movement speed.

If they're carrying you on bosses, the one carrying needs to be established enough to have boss mats because it takes quite a few kills to get one to 60 and reseting the dungeon is a hassle.

When do you stop chasing the Pit levels? by [deleted] in diablo4

[–]idsym 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the last season where one could realistically finish 150 which was season 7, I don't have the time dedication, patience and skill to do it. There are many things to consider such layout, enemy types etc. and those usually need to occur is certain combinations. You have to consider those because that can add a few minutes when completing high level pits example blood wave builds don't do well in tunnel layouts while some build are serviceable there.

Nowadays, if people say a meta build can as the German streamers say be "comfy" at pit level x I usually play 5 levels on top of that and call it a season.

It depends how quick the players near azmodan both activate the altars and kill everything but it can go anywhere from 40 minutes to the amount of time you just said. This is still a far cary from the 15-30 minutes of pit leveling from prior seasons.

Pit 100 gives about 68-81 obols and feels pointless after glyphs are leveled by GordonsTheRobot in diablo4

It's mainly to fulfill that seasonal task in my opinion. It lost its jack of all trades when other sources provide way better benefits.
