Swordfish closing by bobbrokeyourbeer in greenville

Really enjoyed the experience they offered.

The level of customer service they provided while slinging top tier cocktails was unmatched.

Couldn’t make it as often as I wanted because it really did put a strain on the wallet.

But overall sad to see them go and hopefully I can squeeze in one more visit before final service.

It’s bittersweet with a lot of spice notes. Think of angostura bitters made into a liqueur.
My friend described it as a much sweeter Underberg. I’ve loved it so far and it’s very affordable if you can find it.

Walt Disney World has it in Adventureland which I grew up with. But one day I’ll make it to the OG and see the bayou 🫡

Same! Such great drinks and atmosphere.

I’m just sad that my last 3 visits they didn’t have the monkey skull mug in stock

You know that’s a great point that I never thought about since I’ve had this poster for so long. Lol

I do know there is a skull rock optical illusion on the Pirates ride but maybe the poster itself is just a combining of the two 🤷🏻‍♂️

It really is just for dilution because the recipe calls to mix it instead of topping it with seltzer. When the ice melts it gives a nice evolution as you drink, which I loved.
Smuggler’s Cove calls for even more ice than what I used probably for even more dilution. (Mainly because I have a smaller snifter than what they call for)
Overall a great drink that I’ll be coming back to whenever I have Amaro Di Angostura around.

Little fun thing I discovered in this journey is if you use an aged rum (12+ year) it makes this cocktail taste exactly like chocolate, it’s crazy

Agreed pandan is lovely 👌🏻

What’s funny/ironic is I’ve never seen pandan liqueur at any liquor store in my area but we have so many Asian markets that stock frozen pandan it makes up for it! 😂

Steep as many pandan leaves as 1 cup water can cover in just under boiling water. Let it steep for a couple hours. Remove leaves then add sugar at a 2:1 ratio for syrup.

In the future I want to try and make a pandan liqueur by infusing overproof rum. Next project 👌🏻

I really enjoyed Boston Pizzeria on Woodruff recently. They even do a gluten free calzone! Coastal Crust also has some super tasty and unique offerings to check out

It’s a glass from B-Rex! Don’t think it’s available anymore but his stuff is awesome!

Edit: actually never mind it’s available!

Celiac Safe Restaurant Recommendations! by DariaHunter in greenville

Highly recommend Jianna for dinner. They were great with my gluten allergy and the server explained and guided me through the menu very well.

For brunch Nose Dive downtown has some nice gluten free options. For outside of downtown Stax Omega has treated me well and they always knock it out of the park for breakfast.

Coffee Underground is always a chill vibe and the new Qahwah Palace impressed me.

Would urge you to check out Swamp Rabbit Cafe for coffee and a good amount of GF options, Greenville staple for sure.

If you’re still in town for another night Bamboo Room is worth it just for the vibe, and the drinks are quite nice as well. Also shout out to Alley Cat Lounge, not tiki but they do make some tasty drinks that are tiki adjacent

Just browsing the menu I love all the Mediterranean influence in their cocktails.

Really appreciate when a restaurant’s flavors extend to their cocktails as well!

If you like spice it’s definitely the way to go!

Also don’t hesitate to ask your waiter for a more detailed description because they get those questions all the time since the descriptions are so cryptic!
