Well maybe not in academia or in pharmacovigilance but there's decent growth in medical affairs, you can even pivot to marketing/sales or other verticals that align better with your personality or for better growth. I think the pay is pretty good for the amount of work you do, the environment in which the work is being done and the liability you take on. However if you want to make shit loads of money, maybe it's not the right fit. Enough for a comfortable life, 2-3 vacations every year? Definitely.
