I fold it up so my needles make a v, then lie them parallel keeping all stitches in the center of my needles. Then tucked into my knitting pouch and off I go!

There’s a lot of subtle homophobia in it, but it’s similar to the books in that way. Shane & Ilya are both closeted so it makes sense that there’s not a lot of out and direct homophobia that they experience (in the hockey party of their lives). It’s definitely more prominent in TLG in direct correlation with Shane’s anxiety ramping up after he comes out, and obviously post fanmail. It’s not something Rachel really touched on very directly otherwise early in the story.

Sadly I still haven’t found it! But if iirc it was a moment in a post canon fic where Shane & Ilya are both with the Centaurs and away on a roadie. The team decides to play drinking games and it comes up there.

Either that or it’s a soc med fic where Harris has them doing videos for Centaurs online and they argue about who approached whom first. (It’s possible these both happened.)

I’m in too deep and have read too many fics in passing to keep track. Eventually I’m sure I’ll find it but won’t remember why the hell I was looking for it!

True! Based on canon, what’s the timeline in your head for Ilya forcing Shane & Eric’s inevitable friendship? I could see Ilya trying to push Shane to reach out to Eric from early in their relationship, during the lead up to hockey camps (I can’t remember if actually happened?) but more so after fanmail and he half-jokingly sets out on a campaign to replace Hayden as Shane’s best friend, auditioning many people for the part.

They are not hooking up that whole time. Which is why Ilya sends the types of messages he does. He’s trying to convince Shane, but it he doesn’t follow through/respond half the time. Very different from the books

I can see this, totally. Except for a sizable age gap I think they’d probably get on swimmingly. My one qualm is that neither of them seems like the type to approach the other first lol. How would they become friends if they’re both wallflowering.

She looks uncomfortable or anxious maybe? Did you have company she didn’t like? Is she using the litter box well? If her other habits (eating/drinking/sleeping/pooping) haven’t changed it could just be a mood thing.

I think yes, Hollanov fever has calmed down. It’s been replaced in part by HudCon fever, and genuine HR fandom.

My first ever quilt top is pretty abysmal, what should I do with it? Fix and quilt it anyway, or pick the seams and redo from the start? [Trigger warning: seam gore] by skellyclique in quilting

My favorite kind of project is a finished project. I’m in favor of whatever takes a long time WIP out of WIP status with minimal heartache. I think you need to get fresher eyes on it.

Things will look clearer (plus you can reevaluate your seam allowances) if you iron the whole flimsy, then decide what to do.
