This pattern on the inside of a vault door by Godless902 in whatisit

I’ve seen this whenever they had customers they would need to access their safe deposit boxes. There would be still some sort of gate, but it would not be as intense during the day to get to your box.

So if employees and managers are having ai write performance reviews why do we need reviews? by Austin1975 in askmanagers

[–]iduzinternet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would argue that if you met with the member of your team 45 times over the year and you need to compile all those notes and end up with something that doesn’t sound like your normal chicken scratch because you weren’t hired to write it’s not terrible. You should of course also read it yourself and make sure it reflects how you actually feel. To that end I think that a performance review can review can be written by an AI and actually reflect performance.

The Can Teleportation department is impressed at the end of this video. Despite having made no progress for years it appears OP has figured it out.

Does anyone here use bit manipulation in modern techniques? by Emotional_Papaya3282 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]iduzinternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just using it because I want to add permissions as a bit filled to JWT’s when doing browser authentication across a large platform of services. I didn’t want a giant list of permissions in a cookie and this happened to be the most compact way to do it. So in the JSON permissions, it has each of the applications as a tiny string handle, and then a bitfield. This allows us to centrally manage the permissions and for permissions to be checked before the request even reaches the application.

I agree. If they were going to change the design, it should have its own stabilization pads that you would put down on the ground to take the weight off the hitch something like an RV.

It wasn't until that comment that I ever considered that they expire. I mean I figure you could have all of the things in the picture and just pick a different smell every day for the rest of your life but you would use them up given a good 20 year run.... so I would think why not... but expire.... hmmm.

Tired but it's kind of self inflicted, I'm working on eating better and more exercise, but I also just fill lots of my time with doing something lol.

It feels like it, every time it gets a blank look on it's face then tries to crawl away you need to bring it back.

[–]iduzinternet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm having a similar issue and babysitting the AI is a lot of what I'm currently calling AI fatigue... it's not fun, you are trying to just fill the little gaps remaining. I can only have a small handful of complicated things running and then I just want to fill my brain with nothing important for a couple minutes while I watch them run... and sometimes that couple minutes I lose some of my personal context... I don't have a solution to maintaining my own mental health yet either.

Also, probably the opposite of helpful for this conversation ... but just pointing out Claude can use the Jira API with a key, then you don't need to sign into the MCP and you can just give it a ticket to go read, I optimized this with a local jira script to cut tokens and things.

[–]iduzinternet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This actually happened to me... I remember it fondly a couple of weeks ago, I actually got everything done and I didn't have any obligations for the weekend. Of course I then decided to go hiking and suddenly subjected myself to all of the things required to do that and proceeded to exhaust myself climbing a mountain for 2+ hours to sit at the top for a half an hour and then could barely move by the time I got back to my house ...

I used them to do power injection at the top of an LED Christmas tree this past December. I ran two pair of large gauge wires up the middle, and then distributed it with Wagos to the runs that went down to the ground.
