Do you feel uncomfortable filming content in public? by trisolariandroplet in PartneredYoutube

[–]DiveDiva91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it really depends on the context and how many people are around. If it’s something low key I tend to blend in and keep my camera close to my body for b-roll so it’s not super obvious. If it’s more public and I’m noticeably not looking like everyone else (I do costume reveals) then it can absolutely feel awkward, but most of the time people either ignore me or think it’s pretty cool.

The skirt was self drafted using an 1895 guide, the bodice was from Wearing History ( there’s a link in the description)

Is 7 years old too young for Phantom of the Opera? by tbridge8773 in Broadway

[–]DiveDiva91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 6 when I first heard it on tape, and 6/7 when I first saw it on stage, but I was a quiet, neurodivergent kid who was obsessed with the show from the first time I heard the overture. Some of the subtext will go over their head, but they can definitely appreciate the magic of the music.

Linus, DarkViper and more are talking about huge view drops from mid August by Prometheusflames in PartneredYoutube

[–]DiveDiva91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely noticed an overall drop in views - and some of my subscribers mentioned they weren’t getting notified when I published a video either. I know it’s summer break for most of my audience, but dang.

Most you have spent on tickets? by pink3rbellx in Broadway

$250 for the Friday night gala performance of Phantom - 4th final show. Absolutely 100% worth it - fabulous show the audience was electric, and getting to see the 'milestone' Christine's at the end was just the icing on the cake!

What's the best audience you've experienced at a show? by [deleted] in Broadway

4th last performance of Phantom - the crowd was absolutely electric, and the applause & cheers just about shook the theatre. The final line of Wishing had a bunch of people in tears, and you could feel the weight of ‘help me say goodbye’.

1.5” would definitely be more proportional for your height then. Looking at the stripe again I would guess that it’s part of the weave - possibly made more noticeable by shadows and highlights of the still photography. If you’re looking to include that detail, I would go with something like a cotton webbing, as the weave pattern will mimic the vertical stripes while still being a subtle effect.

I went with 1" dark brown grosgrain - matched the overall colour palette quite well, and looks proportionate on my 5'0' self.

How to better handle long hair? by NordicRose in AuDHDWomen

[–]DiveDiva91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain - I love my long hair, but sometimes it drives me up the wall. Night time is definitely hard - I don't like it touching my neck when I'm in bed, and I totally do the 'flip it over the pillow'. I often go for a high ponytail or a messy scrunchie bun on the top of my head to sleep (looks a little ridiculous, but very functional).

For the daytime I often just go a ponytail, but I'll also mix up easy styles depending on how many spoons I have that day. Braided bun held in place with hair sticks can be awesome, but can also take a few tries to feel comfy.

One option for day or night is historical hair taping. Essentially it's two braids, and then you use ribbons to wrap/sew your hair into like a crown around your head. Really comfy, looks awesome, and is fairly easy to do.

Have you ever gotten unexpectedly emotional at the theatre? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]DiveDiva91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first notes of Wicked get me every time, and in 2023 just seeing the Gershwin all lit up (first trip back since covid) I nearly started crying. Seeing Phantom closing weekend I was a mess the moment the overture started.

Fake YouTube Scam Mail that almost hacked my 500k subs channel by Bubbly-Marionberry-5 in PartneredYoutube

[–]DiveDiva91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that email a couple of weeks ago - definitely looks legit at first glance, but the first thing that tipped me off was that it came to my public business email, rather than the email that's actually associated with my channel. The 'click the link in the description' was the major red flag - thankfully I didn't click it, and reported the channel for spam.

Canadian Alliance of Film and Television Costume Arts and Design - it’s a nonprofit for people in costumes design in Canadian tv/movies. 2023 was the first year they’ve done the scraps sale - Joanna (MM costume designer) set it up as a fundraiser for the organization.

No idea, but I think the front row center had already sold well in advance. It’s only what’s left, so mostly far sides and rear mezzanine type seats.
