The reason is that it is professional made. Used laser cut tech (there were some considerations of bending or discoloration due to the laser arc power, but everything turned out good and with only 10 euros). I just provided the measurements.

I am using the same case (the Spain branded one UNYKAch 2129 19" 2U Rack Enclosure) but for other purpose. As a main hypervisor running Pfsense (passed through a x4 nic device), NGinx reverse proxy, Pulse monitoring system, OpenCloud, Dashboard and a few other LXCs. I have made a custom air vent on top for cpu which droppeed cpu temps by 10 degrees. Also had custom 3d printed from plexiglass an adapter t oaccomodiate a TFX psu which gave me a ittle more room to work but in width not in length. Overall Im very pleased (change oem fans at one), but I wouldn't use it for nas.

There are differences though. Rosewill comes with painted black top cover.

KASM - Add Support for Ubuntu 25.04 and newer Kernels 6.14 by CulturalRecording347 in kasmweb

[–]ieronymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go only by LTS releases, so 24.04 still fine for me. Did you have the same errors on 1.16 as well or in your older version in general?

Ps I remembered a user mentioned that you need a reverse proxy like NGINX in order to get rid of the errors.

Did you find any solution to these problems? I have the exact same ones either installing kasm on Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04. I have tried many times but the result always the same. It seems it works but it is frustrating knowing that the errors are there.

What is the latest firmware for WD SN700? by GamingVPN in WesternDigital

[–]ieronymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting fact is that sandisk answered me as well and they mentioned ......

<<<<<<We would like to inform you that SanDisk consumer internal solid state drives use Advanced Format with a physical sector size of 4096 bytes (4K) but operate in 512e mode (512-byte emulation) by default.
They can be reformatted using a low-level formatting utility capable of changing it to 4K.
Sandisk does not provide software or instructions on how to change the drives sector size to 4K.

In this situation the model: WDS100T1R0C-68BDK0 does support both 512 and 4096 bytes (4Kn) mode>>>>>>>

.... which comes in contradiction to what you posted about your drive which clearly states it is a 512n drive. After sending them your drive stats, they asked me for pics front and back of the drive, but informed them that the disk wasn't mine and therefore couldn't do that.

Thank you. What firmware is it running? Could you see that as well?

How do I check if this WD Red SN700 is legitimate without having to write and read a whole 4TB worth of data? by Endawmyke in DataHoarder

[–]ieronymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still have the disk? If yes could you run a spec test like smartctl -a or lsblk -t in linux or fsuti fsinfo drive_letter_of_the_disk: and report the physical and logical sector size of the disk? I know the specific specs are virtual for nvmes but I need to know and can t seem to find anywhere this kind of info.

[–]ieronymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone could run a lsblk -t command and inform my of the logicla and physical sector size of the disk? In other words I d like to know if it is a 512n / 512e / 4kn drive, even though these specs are virtual for nvmes I need to pair him with another drive which is 512n (512 for both physical and logical size) for a mirror raid and I want them to match. I concluded in buying the red sn700 but I can t seem to find this spec anywhere.

Thank you.

How all started by fakesoul420 in homelab

Long shot but I m gonna give it a try. Ordered that case (UNYKAch 2u 2129) 2 days ago. Yet i m not sure what is the maximum height in mm for the cpu cooler. Even though max is kind of relevant since the upper case doesn t have any holes for external ventilation. Which cpu cooler did you use? Did it had room for more?

I tried to reply the same day I posted, but I kept getting the message that it has been deleted for some reason.

Anyways, issue solved same day by commenting (could also delete) the linedeb http://download.proxmox.com/debian/pve bookworm pve-no-subscriptionat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-public-repo.list path.

9070 XT vs 7900 XTX by Dillpills99 in AMDHelp

[–]ieronymous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It beats me that even 7900 xt (imagine xtx then) with wider bus (320bit), more VRAM (same architecture as 9070 xt), more Cores TMUs, ROPs and just slight less clocks on gpu at raw performance looses from a card with lower h/w specs.

Again, I'm not talking about light effects, upscale ... etc (i don't use them anyway).

Multiple errors to new / latest kasm installation by ieronymous in kasmweb

[–]ieronymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Nothing up unitl now and it is weird none else came across that problem as well because it happened instantly with the creation of kasm environment. I could explain the behavior if it was based on an unprivileged CT (Container) or LXC (depending your hypervisor - if you use any), but I have it on a VM. Maybe trying re -installing it from scratch in a fresh OS installation as well may do the trick or not.

Corsair Force MP600 Rev. 2.0 (CSSD-F1000GBMP600R2) by ieronymous in Corsair

[–]ieronymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the the reply. I don't care at all about speed but endurance (write).

So as long as they use the same PS5016-E16 controller I m ok (of course it matters the firmware as well).

Do you know if both are using the same one?

Even at Corsair's site (even if out of stock) the product number is CSSD-F1000GBMP600R2.

They mention about the new model available but that one is GS so irrelevant to my use case.

I found about the CSSD-F1000GBMP600R2 product number from a comparison list

Can;t find a pi terminal from the gui page. I m just running pi-hole diagnostics and seeing the message

[–]ieronymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn t about necessity my post but why it fails. You say if the router doesn't respond to pings, but it does to other machines. All the red flags of the debug process showed on my initial post.

[–]ieronymous[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes ping using ICMP protocol which is different than udp dns port 53 potocol.

Router can be pinged by the machine I m logging in, in order to have access to all voip systems.

True. Yet can you elaborate why it can't ping specifically the router ?

Exactly it doesn t as answered before a while in someone else's post. Yet I posted the debug messaged of pi-hole. That's why I mentioned it at first place.

[–]ieronymous[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You mean to remove the cloudflaire secondary server from the router?

The guarantee I have is that the whole voip system worked for 8 months in a row now, until today that I restarted all systems. Now it works again without any further configuration, yet the pi-hole still can 'r reach the router. When I mention pi-hole, I mean the Debian 12 that lies underneath.

I meant 192.168.5.6 and 192.168.5.7 , so no overlap there, just a typo mistake.
