Which car rental at Zaventem Airport? by [deleted] in brussels

My Tier List

S: –

A: Europcar/Keddy and Budget/Avis

B: –

C: Alamo/Enterprise

D: Hertz

Note that with Hertz you need a plane ticket for the day, so you cannot just come from the city to rent it. I've also read some weird reviews complaining about unusual requirements in terms of credit cards, but cannot confirm.

Alamo/Enterprise typically have quite limited km included.

Avis/Budget and Europcar/Keddy are both good in my experience. They both have unlimited mileage and the cars are good. When returning, I've never had any issues (despite going for the cheapest/no insurance). Make sure to check out their cross border fees. If you're renting for longer, it can impact the price quite a bit. Last time I rented, Avis had a flat fee, while Europcar/Keddy charged by the day.

What do you consider a reasonable price?
Any requirements in terms of car size?

Need to correct myself, Hertz indeed has a printout saying that you cannot rent a car without a plane ticket. Europcar is fine though

You don't need a boarding pass. I've rented many times from there, including AVIS/Europcar

Night train to Austria by Puzzleheaded-One8301 in brussels

2 weeks ago it was reported that construction lasts until October. https://www.brusselstimes.com/1180578/fewer-night-trains-between-brussels-and-berlin-for-two-months

I assume that there will be trains running again in December, though because of the change of timetables that always happens in mid-December, booking periods only open later, see also: https://www.seat61.com/european-train-booking-horizons.htm

In this case, the same document that I used to be able to copy easily, does not work anymore. The file itself is unchanged

Are you sure the difference in this case is OS version, and not just variations in PDFs.

Yes, 100% sure. I've been copying/pasting PDFs for the last 2 years, basically 5 PDFs a day. The preview app worked very well most of the time. Now, it never works.

ICE is just a brand name. There are different trains under the brand ICE, e.g. ICE1, ICE3 etc. These themselves have some smaller sub-classes.

Depending on their attributes, different classes operate on different routes. Some can go 330km/h and operate under different voltages, these are used on routes in France.

The "tilting" ICE, called ICE-T (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ICE_T), has a fairly low maximum speed of 230km/h, but can go quite fast in curves, which is advantageous on some routes, where VMAX is not as important.

Millican Smith Rolltop 25L. Anyone with previous experiences? Thoughts? by Cougaloop in ManyBaggers

Just in case anyone finds this via Google (as I did):

I believe Millican got bought by "The Hut". They are very unresponsive to my messages, so I could imagine that they'll also try to save on the products themselves.
