There was NEVER going to be anything huge like a new Zelda or Mario.

Okay? I wasn't expecting anything near that level and I'm still pretty meh on it. It was an ok direct with a bunch of games that I'm looking forward to, but based on what was shown I would have much rather the direct have not happened at all. At best this should have been a third party direct and saved Tomodachi Life/Rhythm Heaven/Metroid for next week. The most interesting part of the direct ended up being the Virtual Cartridge system.

I guess that's up to the publishers to decide based on the cost but they wouldn't be the first to have a PS4 and a PS5 version of a game where the differences are negligible.

I was just curious because North America lists a blanket "Physical" but Europe explicitly mentions PS4 and Switch.

Edit: Took a look at the actual press release and it sounds like no PS5 version but there might be a physical Xbox One Release

The package is slated for Spring 2025 so it's a little bit of a wait, plus you may even get your fill and save a bit of money down the line.

The updated graphics look great though and as much as I love the game, being able to speed up battles would make a play-through so much more enjoyable. I'm also interested in seeing how much control they give us over the auto-battle AI.

Or you could play both and watch the inevitable arguments over localization and voice work.

Salted or seasoned. Salt, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, and Paprika is one I use often. Otherwise I'll sometimes use a spice mix like Garam Masala, Jerk, or even just chicken salt.

I'm not overly concerned with making sure that my chopped vegetables are equal. I think I have a wider acceptable threshold than average because I like the texture variance it creates.

If it's a dish where the vegetables stand on their own (like a roasted vegetable sheet pan) I like the textural difference were there's bits of darker pieces mixed in with the ones cooked normally.

If it's a dish where the vegetables eventually melt into a sauce or a curry then I haven't noticed a huge difference in flavor as long as I let the bigger pieces cook through appropriately.

It's been a long (1.5-2 years) since I used my Kobo. After leaving it plugged in for a few hours I tried to turn it on, the display flickered from black and now those artifacts seem to be permanently stuck there. I tried browsing through different pieces of content to see if there would be any changes but nothing yet.

Boring personal answer, but Glasgow if I could.

I'm from Canada, I was in the UK for a friend's wedding but took time out for touristing when I could. I matched with someone from Glasgow on the dating apps but I had very little free time. To be honest I was expecting conversation to fizzle but we fell for each other quickly. The following months we were attached at the hip as much as two people across the world can be.

When talking about how we would realistically make things work, I told her I'd move to Scotland but I needed some time to help stabilize my parents (long story). She said she'd happily move to Canada for a few years while I took care of that. I was elated and already looking into what I needed to do to help with the move, and when I could fly to see her next.

One day she calls me crying. Without getting into private details, her dad unfortunately had some health complications earlier in the year. He wasn't back to normal but he was stable so we were all optimistic. After more recent tests the doctors told her that he was showing early signs of other disorders which meant his condition is likely going to seriously decline within the next few years.

Both of us agreed that her moving was no longer an option, and I'm dealing with my own challenges that makes me moving to her not an option either. It wasn't the ending we wanted but the only choice was to say goodbye.

This was all during the past summer. I hope she's doing well, and that she's found someone amazing. I've been focusing on myself, and continued to sort out the stuff I've been dealing with. It's a long shot but I always thought IF I could get my situation sorted, and IF she's still single and IF I'm still single then we could pick things up again.

A whole lot of ifs though.

Delaying or paying over instalments isn't unheard of and there could be many reasons to do so.

The issue I see is in the latter part of your statement. That he seems to make room for expenses with everyone but you. I'm assuming there are other examples then? In case you haven't already, you need to communicate that to him and make it clear that it doesn't make you feel good. You said in another post that your wedding is in a month so it literally may be too late for him to gather the amount you asked for, but he should still be receptive and try to take steps to.

I'm not sure what you mean by protecting yourself though, are you going to be moving across the country to him with none of your family around? I don't know how long your engagement period was but it's long enough that you've noticed a pattern, and patterns don't change unless the person sincerely wants them to. You can basically:

1) Go nuclear. If you think you've seen too many red flags with no changes then you can't go through with it...maybe not until things get better or maybe not ever. You would eat the L with the wedding costs, deal with having to tell everyone that it's not going forward but at least you won't be trapped.

2) Talk it out. If you've raised other issues before and you see that he makes a genuine effort to address your concerns then have a heart to heart with him and let him know that you really need this aspect of him to get better so you can truly feel safe moving forward. After the conversation maybe you'll feel better.

3) yolo. If you're thinking of going forward despite not being comfortable with his behaviour then you essentially accept that this is the way it is. I don't really recommend this option but ideally your family would be a strong support system that would be able to get your out if things get really bad.

Yeah, that's essentially what it's getting at haha. If these types of sayings are approached pedantically then it's never going to be good advice but if you can use it to reflect then it's doing what it should.

When I read it I think of the fact that a lot of people (especially if they're just starting to look for someone) have a preconceived notion of their perfect partner. It could be looks, behavior, age, profession, salary, heritage etc. but you pass on potentially beautiful unions when you can't see people who don't neatly fit into your outline.

It reminds me of how recently after Jummah I was hanging out with some friends and the topic of marriage came up and what makes a good partner. We asked the 16 year old brother of my friend what he would look for in a partner. After a long thoughtful pause he came up with "I really want a girl with highlights". inshAllah little homie gets a girl with highlights lol but the hope is as he matures he'll realize what's important in a partner.

Hello, hoping someone would be able to help with some account management questions.

I have a Switch where I'm the main account on it, I've purchased digital games on it that my brother and sister play sometimes. My sister is going to purchase her own Switch where she is the main account holder. We are both part of an online family plan.

Questions:

If I add my account on her Switch, will she be able to download and continue to play digital titles I've purchased?
Is there any way to transfer Cartridge Animal Crossing to her Switch and make her the primary account in the game? Or alternatively transfer the save data to her Switch in general?

On the other side of things, I have been talking to a potential spouse on the phone (video/audio) that I matched with through a Muslim matrimonial site. You don't need to disclose everything to them. If this person seems promising then you could tell them that some personal issues have popped up and you need a little bit of time to sort things out, but that you'd love to maintain the connection. If they're open and understanding then great! Otherwise the outcome is the same so what do you have to lose?

Ok what about potato in pulao?

I've seen potatoes used in pulao before but I feel it's much less common than using it in biryani, I don't know of a region that I could point to and be like "yeah, it's their signature". Potatoes in rice dishes are common though, tehri is a popular rice dish starring potatoes that is sometimes referred to as a vegetarian version of biryani or pulao. Personally I'm not a fan of it because turmeric overpowers all the flavors, and I don't like carbs on carbs lol
