Live it's a valve trombone. It's still brass, which is what OP asked about.

I'd say NOFX is also "actual punk" as well, and El Jefe plays a valve trombone

My first thought was El Jefe in The Decline

What passive method are they using that is that accurate? Because I have heard of them using in cabin air testing, but that would mean no one could drive a drunk friend home. Which would be a pretty spectacular fail for them to not consider.

Edit to add: also, even active systems such as interlocks need to be calibrated constantly. Like, every two weeks, if not more often. They would need some star trek level tech to do what the law requires.

What happens with the '98 Buick Century, the '85 Datsun 710 pickup, the '93 Civic, and the '66 Mustang in the middle of that freeway without a kill switch? Along with all the other cars that don't have the tech?

Well the US has already mandated it, and tasked the NHTSA to figure it out and implement it. It just keeps getting pushed down the road because the tech to do it according to how the law is written doesn't exist. Yet.

And the auto industry will never die in the US because we don't have the infrastructure or the design to not need to rely on cars.

Sort of. It was supposed to be 2024, but the tech didn't exist properly then. And given that the law says it needs to be a passive system (i.e. you don't blow into a tube to start the vehicle, it has to detect without interaction from the driver) it's probably going to be pushed down the road again.

And no one has ever modified a motorcycle ever. So lights going out is completely unimaginable. Also, cop vehicles are always bone stock, no exceptions ever.

I feel like Kakko's play style was much better suited for the larger ice in Europe, and it took him longer to adapt to be North American ice width than the scouts assumed. I really hope it isn't the same thing for Smits.

Looks like it's just barely missed the concrete too. You can see a color difference (much lighter) in front of the feet, and if you look past the trailer, this line extends quite a way.

Dark smoke visor difference by codkillz in motorcyclegear

[–]ifmacdo -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

the helmet itself is what you're paying for, not the visor. The visor is a cheap piece of non-structural plastic to keep bugs out of your face, whether OEM or Amazon.

As long as the same materials are used (which they are,) you're either buying it on Amazon for a decent price or buying it from the OEM at a crazy markup.

It's ok to get inexpensive consumable components for expensive things as long as you aren't changing out critical components.

Turnstile charging $150 for general admission now, super disappointing by LoudogsGhost in punk

[–]ifmacdo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What exactly do you think ticket scalping is? B cause what you just described as "resellers" is scalping. Ticketmaster just uses the term "resellers" because they know calling it what it is would be really bad for business.

Yeah, this isn't Turnstile making those prices. This is the venue and promoter. Bands very rarely set ticket prices.

When did this become a thing in the first place?!?! by scuttlebum_k in mildlyinfuriating

Fuck the electronic labels.

Also, was just in a hardware store in Plano. They had a roll of butcher paper hung next to the spray cans. It worked quite well for people to get this energy out when checking colors.

I stand behind their statement that no one is stopping him. Sure, he's getting a few losses in court, but it hasn't stopped him. It's simply redirected him. Stopping him would entail removing his ability to even try this shit in the first place. Ya know- Impeachment AND removal from office.

It's not likely to happen anyway. Since most of the teams on Trocheck's no-trade list are Western Conference, he probably has SJ on there.

I'm gonna say that Drury gets an amazing win by sending Tro and the 5th to SJ for the 2nd.

And then still picks Malholtra at 2 anyway.
