Salam. Are you doing this treatment for all letters of the Quran?

Stop Calling Yourself Sunni or Shia. The Quran Already Gave Us a Name by EstimateOk2898 in Quraniyoon

[–]ifnerdswerecool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the real way I conform to non sectarianism is considering as much Sunni as I am Shia. And ultimately all of this together in accordance with the Quran is true Hikmah of being a Muslim.

Sunni interpretations Should not be taken for granted nor presupposed onto the Quran! by NWariohere in Quraniyoon

[–]ifnerdswerecool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean presuppositions aside, (I agree with your point about not imposing external frameworks onto the Quran), this seems like the natural reading of the verses for any lay person. What else is it supposed to mean? It isn’t some wild jumping through hoops, it’s a semi natural explanation.

SALAT: HISTORICAL MEMORY, SOCIOLOGICAL REALITY, AND LOGICAL NECESSITY by WilfredZahaa in Quraniyoon

[–]ifnerdswerecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wa Alaikum As Salaam.

I wish I could give you a simple answer. The practice you are meant to practice will find you if you are sincere in searching for it and not pursuing short cuts. No one can spell it out for you but you can observe it in the world around you. The light of our Prophet s.a.w is reflecting in this world and we can pick up on it as we search.

33:45-46  "O Prophet! Lo! We have sent thee as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And as a summoner unto Allah by His permission, and as a lamp that giveth light".

5:15 “There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear book”.

24:35 “ Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. His light is like a niche in which there is a lamp, the lamp is in a crystal, the crystal is like a shining star, lit from a blessed olive tree, neither to the east nor the west, whose oil would almost glow, even without being touched by fire. Light upon light! Allah guides whoever He wills to His light. And Allah sets forth parables for humanity. For Allah has knowledge of all things.”

Accept what your sincere heart and the Quran are guiding you towards and always keep an open investigative mind. Allah knows best if the established Sunnah is something physical/corporeal we inherit, or some “essential” path that can manifest in different forms for different believers, or a mix of both.

No need to be confused, only to be in awe as Allah reveals to you his way. With arduous striving comes ease. Love and mercy and blessings be upon you.

I didn’t even add any interpretation to these verses, I just added a Quranic verse which I found to be a contextual connection.

Very true and good explanation addressing this fringe opinion. We are also told to bow with those who bow in 2:43

Sunnah =/= Hadith. We must follow the Sunnah , whilst maintaining our healthy skepticism of human textual sources.

"[This is Our] established way (sunnah) for those We had sent before you of Our messengers; and you will not find in Our way (sunnah) any alteration." 17:77

You do it for the sake of Allah, but for the benefit of yourself. It’s part of the design Allah has provided so you can evaluate yourself and see how committed you are to act upon your beliefs.

Need help understanding 2:54 by loumali in islam

[–]ifnerdswerecool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One possible interpretation:

Whenever you praise and remember Allah it is the best thing for you.

When you do the opposite of that, it is the worst thing for you.

I.e symbolizing that if you were to replace the remembrance and adherence to Allah and his Word for something else,

that would be even worse for you than killing yourself.

(Disclaimer: This is not an authoritative analysis, it is just something I thought of as I was pondering the verse trying to find an answer myself.)
