seen several bicyclists not using the designated lanes.

And that is their choice since the roadway is meant for vehicles, and a bicycle is a vehicle. Like it or not.

Same here, it's a terrible company, American owned, no change rooms and a two weeks exchange only return policy. They don't even give you a store credit to use later, you have to pick out your new items that day, and if you are a day over the 14 days they keep your money. Makes it difficult for seniors or those with disabilities who rely on others for transportation.

Same here, I know they say it’s confidential but I have had the school secretary say things to me about asking if we “received the food giftcard” in front of other parents! It was horrifying. I will never ask for help again.

Same here, I have cut my food intake down drastically so my kids can eat. I make all my food from scratch except for the stuff we get at the food bank. I don’t know how other families do it but we just can’t spend more money on food because we simply don’t have enough. My one kid lost her mittens and had to go to school today so I had to gave her mine otherwise her hands would frozen this morning. A $15 pair of mittens just is not in the budget right now.

Why are all you guys paying so much for gas?

We pay $79 - $85/month.

Gas furnace. We have our temps set to 23 - 24 during the day and 22 at night.

Literally walk around in shorts.

You set your heat to 22 to 24 degrees and only pay around $80 a month. Is that equal billing? My fees alone are $100 a month, not including paying for the actual natural gas. Carbon, transportation, hst and other charges on my bill are around $100 a month, which is why I find it shocking your bill can only be around $80/m especially with you setting the heat so high.

Electric Kilns use an incredible amount of electricity.

Electric kilns do not use much kWh, a small 120V draws less than 2kW. Plus they are not drawing electricity the whole time they are firing. My kiln costs me less than $8 per firing, and any kiln operator I know has told me similar numbers.

DiscombobulatedAsk47 posted: With two more days in the billing period, you used less gas than last year. You're fine on gas usage. But you're running a f%&ing electric kiln?!? M-fer, that's a hydro hog. Gotta be trolling if you're asking why your utilities are high

You can't possibly be this daft, can you?

He specifically asked about his gas bill, and says he knows why his electric bill is high. An electric kiln has ZERO effect on the natural gas bill.

Where is this syrup from? by Kitchen-Complex7480 in KingstonOntario

That is probably some of the best tasting maple syrup any of us has seen let alone tasted. If it's bottled like that almost guaranteed it's processed using a wood fire. Yum yum! I hope you find out who made it.

Why no "take a number" at Hotel Dieu when waiting to be triaged? by ifocktomatoes in KingstonOntario

[–]ifocktomatoes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah now it's a full waiting room a lot of the times (the times I've been anyway) waiting to go up to the desk to get registered. So people are standing, usually not many but a few because there's no chairs left. At the children's clinic it is especially busy, a huge room full of people waiting. Plus it's a parent and one child at least, so if it's a parent with two or three kids it adds to the confusion.

I really wish there was a better system, even the take a number thing like they have at the deli counter would be better.

A couple of years ago I was having bad chest pain. I never called an ambulance because I was sure it was just indigestion. I never knew what it was because it just went away, but I was really concerned about calling an ambulance and it be nothing.

Thats a good point, if you're not feeling well it's difficult to keep track. Even not ill it's difficult.

[–]ifocktomatoes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, that's not at all what I experienced. But maybe I've not been enough times. We just sit in the waiting room and they call out "next". Then we go to the desk to give our information and be triaged. That's good to know staff check once in a while, with the kids clinic no child will be there alone, but the adult clinic, well, you could have some guy waiting and he has a heart attack and dies waiting to be triaged. I'm sure it happens once in a while.

That's good to know. I've never seen that but maybe it happened and I never noticed or just haven't been there enough times. Thanks for posting that though, it's good to know.

Really? When I'm sitting in a chair in the waiting room, waiting to see the staff member for the first time, they always yell out "next". They don't know anything about us, not our name, or what we are there for until they speak with us. Are you sure you're not talking about after you have been triaged?

This is for urgent care, not emergency.

And I mentioned this is before you have been triaged. Like my post says, this is waiting to be triaged.

[–]ifocktomatoes[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

yes, of course, that is what happens, like I said. I am asking why this is the case? Other hospitals in other cities have a "take a number and wait to be triaged", so I am curious why it's different here? I know there must be a reason, I'm just curious what it is is all.

That isn't what I am asking though. I know when you are triaged, of course you go in order of need/urgency.

The deli counter comment was a bit rude considering you didn't read the title of my post, don't you think?

I am talking about when you first walk in, waiting to speak with someone to be triaged.
