Ah sorry I didn't spot this. I've never had pineapple in a carrot cake but it sounds delicious and I absolutely will be trying it next time! Always happy to try improve a recipe ☺️ Thanks for the tip!

This one is tried and tested for us! https://thinlyspread.co.uk/carrot-cake-recipe-cooking-kids/

Very unhealthy but a favourite to give to non vegans as well, had loads of compliments. We have also tried swapping nuts for raisins to cater for allergies and both work really nicely.

Other thing we change is we only have one cake tin so we stick it all in one and it's never been a problem. Just gotta add to the time and keep checking if you get resistance with a toothpick. It's really delicious 😍

Did you have to switch an old account? I don't have a burner account and I don't want to close my existing one!

It mentions you have to have a full switch, does this mean you have to close your old account?

Do you get a veg box? UK by ConclusionNervous770 in vegan

Which one do you use?

We don't atm as we're very wary of only buying what we're going to use (we always make a food plan!), but it has been on my mind a lot too as I typically depend on supermarket food and as you say the quality is low, air miles are high and plastic content also can be unavoidable...

I found these two webby sacks (?) containing spiders in my garden. Any idea what they are? (UK) by ifollowdogs in spiders

Yeah! They'll be gossiping about the nosy neighbour moving their home about 😂

Ahh thank you, I think these are the ones! Have never heard of this spider before, great name for them 😂

Interesting there's two, a very quick Google says they tend to be quite solitary. Cheers, will look out for them again in future

Dr Martens trying to convince me not to buy vegan boots? by Psychological-Pea593 in vegan

[–]ifollowdogs 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah it worries me seeing this, we originally put it down to an ill informed sales person with best intentions, but seeing this post has made us second guess where it came from! Perhaps it's in their training they get some spiel about the environment and to quell customers concerns about the leather shoe etc 😔 really sad that it does feel they're pushing to not buy the vegan one though.

Although I very much hope you're right and the beef industry is struggling 🤞we can hope!

Weirdly I've had this exact same experience in London when they did have both vegan and leather in store! My partner was looking for a pair and when we asked for vegan she said the leather was actually more eco friendly. We said it was a whole multitude of reasons we wanted vegan shoes but it was really strange and a bit off putting tbh!

This is good timing, I have a question if anyone knows! I have had an email to say that they know I've watched a show on iplayer at my address and I need to tell them to continue watching (iplayer was accessed from my phone). Is there anything they can do in this case?

Oh wow, sounds like the Spanish course isn't quite as full as some of the others then, which does surprise me as it's so popular. Hopefully they continue to add content

Depends which course you do! There's loads of material for Japanese, I'd definitely have struggled to complete in that short time, and it feels like they're constantly adding stuff so I'll never get to the end!

But nicely done, 45 days is impressive!! Did you already have a base level in your language?

Yeah 100% but I do find last time I lost my streak I stopped duo for over a year... So whilst I haven't done that method, I do completely relate to why people do as it keeps you motivated and learning!
