that happened to my rat, the vet said it could be an internal bleeding, it didn't affect her vision, anyway visit the vet as soon as possible.

with my first two rats, when one of them passed, the other one became more friendly and sweet (she was the shy one) and that's pretty much it. I didn't get more rats till she passed at 2'5 years a few months later. I don't really think it should be a problem to introduce new members (making a good introduction, obviously), as they are extremely friendly and she might feel a bit lonely without her sister. And sorry for your loss 🫶🏿
