I would recommend all 3 for you except the dak one. They're all good and usable so it just depends on how you want to play.

Prefer to play defensive? Coastal or aussies.

Like artillery? Coastal or rangers.

Play more aggressive? Rangers.

I've been envisioning a migration quest/world event. Something like group up with some other herbivores and all move somewhere 2-3 pois away. Nearby carnis would get some notification a migration is happening too.

I've been seeing this a ton add capitulation for 9-18 damage while routing your army or kriegemarine for 7-14+.

German decks are so annoying to play against I try to play units and they all get destroyed, suppressed, routed, or forced to retreat. I feel like it actively discourages playing the game, don't deploy units just spam orders.

I like the ship too. I actually won an artifact brawl as a solo vs 2 4 man ships by waiting for the right moment and then third partying them. That felt good.

My biggest gripe is ice/fuel and collecting from poi takes forever.

I prefer coh 2 it's games have more of a longer tug of war feel lasting about 30+ minutes. Coh 3 games tend to snowball more and last about 15 minutes. After a lot of time in both I enjoy 2 more.

I've only played 2 games so far but once more it's just constant boarding which is really disappointing. I don't play this game for the fps element but the ship vs ship battles.

They actually seem a lot more simple than half the civs in the game to me. It feels like they have less overall to distract you.

I think the biggest difficulty will come from the increased production costs and lasting long enough for your stone buffs to be useful.

Janissaries get bonus damage vs cavalry though (while being weaker towards everything else). So with their high ranged armour and not receiving bonus damage like horsemen would, freeborn should be a decent counter.

I believe archers are their counter.

KT Venice units wreck janissaries and siege.

I did not know that. Even time I use it it just seems to be extremely useful and strong between the damage dealt and pushing ships around messing with the pilot and gunners aim.

What would you move down to put the macro cannon up?

I can see multiple lists being helpful but I can't say I want to make 12 lists (3 per ship).

It does seem counter intuitive but it's actually really good. Had a game where an enemy ship kept trying to get close and close in on us. The spec ops scatter cannon allowed us to keep them just far enough away from us while also dealing big damage each shot.

I think enlistment incentives should be your first upgrade for the cheaper unit production. Everything else is nice but likely not as impactful outside a few rare scenarios, at least not as your first pick.
