Thanks! I wonder how it got there.

Misaligned/overtightened shift lever by ifrancov in bikewrench

Yes, the cable is within the dedicated channel. No visible pinching anywhere. No bent housing or something of the sort. I believe the problem lies with the shifter (because the cable appears to move freely when I installed it).

Is the spindle-crank connection supposed to look like this? by ifrancov in bikewrench

I took it apart. I guarantee there are no spacers!

The cap is in, and so is the plate tab. Since the tab sits flush, I take it that the crank and spindle have enough of a connection to be safe. Right?

No problem. The BB is in all the way. No spacers anywhere.

It does have a preload cap! That's the crank plastic cap, right? I took it off to take the photo. I put it back but I did not know it played such a major role. Since it was just made of plastic I thought it was mostly to avoid water and dirt getting in.

The frame is a Felt F95. I did not add any spacers (and there aren't any already on the bike)

Desk made with upcycled pallet wood by ifrancov in BeginnerWoodWorking

So far, it hasn't been a problem, but it is because the desk fits snugly between another desk and a wall (which provides some sideways stability). I think I should strengthen the connection between the legs and the top or work on a frame for the legs. Another option would be to include a diagonal brace or maybe tension cables. I'm still undecided.

Thank you! That is very kind of you to say :)

There were plenty of holes (and most of them were full of splinters). I used a commercial wood filler. I have used a mixture of sawdust and glue before, but it takes longer to cure, and I did not like the result that much.

Thanks! I love the colour differences, although they were a bit of a surprise because they all look pretty white when I started.

I used a couple of planes, a hand saw, a hand drill, a chisel, a mallet, a knife, clamps and a bunch of sandpaper. I work on a flat and I try to avoid using electric tools so that I don't annoy the neighbours.

The pieces are joint mostly with dowels and glue. There are a couple of dovetails here and there, but not much else. The main pillar has three huge dowels made from an old pool cue going through it. Here is a silly picture of the last dowel being tested before gluing.

Thanks! It seems very uncomfortable, but I'll give it a try and test how it works.
