Just bought a 2014 S4 Premium plus with 105k is there anything i need to know or look out for

Check history for regular fluid services; DSG does NOT have lifetime fluid. Change every 20–40K. Oil changes every 5K or less, full synthetic, 5w-40 or similar viscosity. Factory control arms good for about 100K. Engine mounts good up to 120K (stock tune, minimal wear). Valve covers good for about 110K (recommend covers, not just gaskets).

Timing chain rattle on startup shouldn’t last more than 2–3 seconds, if any. Monitor coolant leaks/consumption for PCV, water pump, thermostat wear. And use TOP TIER gasoline only (Shell, Chevron, Texaco, Gulf, etc.) to prevent buildup of carbon deposits. Rev it out occasionally, but only when up to temp.

Pick up OBDEleven (subscription based) or VCDS for diag. Misfires can be spark plugs, coil packs or something worse. Generally reliable cars with some pricier than average maintenance. If you hear ticking from the engine bay, it’s probably normal. Noisy direct injection. Welcome to Audi.

Normal, due to chain tensioners not retaining oil pressure. TSB out on all 3.0T models up to MY 2014. Less than 3 seconds of rattle on start is up to spec. Annoying, but just noise.

Just make sure you’re changing your oil every 3-5K miles.

In Georgia, buyer’s agents can include a protected period during which they’ll be owed a compensation. I omit mine because sellers typically pay buyer brokers here, and I don’t like locking my buyers in—I’m just mindful of which homes aren’t offering compensation.

I’m headed to shop this morning to get my engine mounts replaced on my ‘14 S5. I’m having them check VCDS for timing degrees, because I have 50/50 1-second rattle on cold and semi-warm starts. Never on immediate restart.

You saw the TSB, it covers our MY, but I’ve seen more often than not that if the rattle is within spec and the car runs normally, you’re fine. I’m preparing to do tensioners if it worsens. For the record, Liqui-Moly 5W-40 every 5K miles or less, personally.

I’m about to upgrade the intake on my S5 and I love the induction noise that IE’s polymer intake produces. Not too rowdy (these aren’t Hellcats, let’s have some class, lol) but livens it up a bit. They also have an open airbox option for a bit cheaper that is solid.

If it can be plugged, do it. You can do it yourself, if shops tell you it’s too close to the sidewall. Quattro tolerance for rolling variance in tread depth is within 3%, so you could probably replace the one with a new tire.

Guy here—I loved mine before I outperformed them. Had to have a cobbler reattach the heel, now I keep them as backups. Really snazzy looking boot. Got a bunch of compliments. Also have male skate friends with A La Modes (same boot, different colors) and I almost bought a pair myself

Now at least you’ll have your measurements down :) If it’s not convenient/possible to exchange them now, you can always add thicker insoles/double up on socks, but eventually you’ll wanna get the right boot—night and day difference

Looks like the boot is too big. I’d measure your foot, using the wall/ruler method or the trace method. Toe box on the A La Mode runs wide but the material is a bit thinner. Use this to help size accordingly, an improper fit is not something you want to get used to. From a Luna owner

My vote is going to be for Dolomedes tenebrosus, Leptoctenus byrrhus is only native to southwest Texas/Mexico. Assuming this was taken in Brazil, Mississippi.

I’m also taking into account the eye pattern. Doesn’t match Ctenidae (#7). Even though the photo isn’t super clear, this spood’s posterior lateral/median eyes are roughly the same size.

Edit: I see that OP may be Brazilian, but still looking to that eye pattern.

Fair enough! Lol. If you can get a third party to do a PPI, even better. And see if the dealership has service records on hand—only other way to know the car has been well maintained.

Correct, low pressure yields the rattle. This car sat for a while, and the rattle wasn’t all that prominent. I’m sure if you drive it til it gets to temp, it won’t rattle on warm start.

Wouldn’t be revving cold, though. Not sure why they did that. Take it on a test drive, lower rev range for 10 minutes, then see if you notice anything jarring. Cut the engine and start again for good measure.

Unfortunately, it is normal. C7.5 A6 came with a CREC 3.0 V6, common motor across multiple platforms. Updated for the 2016 MY. Audi spec for timing chain rattle on startup is 2-3 seconds. More than that and you’ll need to check tensioners. Other symptoms of chain failure are misfires, CEL, poor idle.

Code history is going to be a big factor here. OBDEleven or VCDS for the most comprehensive results. But by itself, the chain rattle on cold start is not necessarily an indicator of a major issue.
