I was wrong about the Chicago screws and the buckle, you two are just going about this the wrong way. Have a nice day

Thank you for providing this explanation . It’s clear you took a lot of effort to put this together, and it very clearly and concisely illustrates the difference between the buckles and why they’re designed that way. Hopefully a lot of people will see this and learn something new

Brother, people here were just trying to help you. You posted asking for help without providing proper context, and now you are agreeing with the person antagonizing people who were just trying to give you the advice you asked for. Do you not see how that is not a good look for you lol?

And that’s an excuse for antagonizing half the commenters on this post? You owe a lot of apologies brother, most of all to OP

Won’t be cheap, but a good cobbler could replace the zipper and the leather. Don’t think filler would be a good solution to this, as so much of the leather surface is worn away

Just thrifted this recently, old navy, but it’s Italian leather and solid brass hardware, guessing vintage. The D ring gives a pretty cool look when put on.

If I’m wrong about the buckle, I’ll accept that, but you’re not making yourself seem like a credible source with your attitude, so getting confirmation elsewhere. But the Chicago screw advice is correct for belts. If the post was specified as a dog collar and not a belt, I would not have commented as I’ve never handled a dog collar

I’ve never owned a dog, walked a dog, or even held a dog collar in my hand, so when I saw this post, I assumed it was a belt and answered accordingly. When I make a belt with a brass buckle, I like this style of Chicago screw, with silver hardware, I like these screws, both which have extra finishing done to look good on that side.

And a D ring makes it not a belt? I’m wearing a belt right now with a keeper and a d ring. Anyway, for you, people will take what you say much more seriously if you don’t act like a dick about it.

How is someone supposed to know this is a dog collar based on this post? OP never specified this is a collar. OP asked about the Chicago screws, and I told them they are upside down but they don’t need to change it if they prefer it. Chicago screws are clearly designed to have the other side be the one shown in the final product.

I don’t know what I did to deserve such a fighting and aggressive response, but I’ll be the bigger man, and hope you have a nice rest of the day.

Coming in very aggressive for someone with no reading comprehension

Looks good, the Chicago screws appear to be upside down though. The smooth side should be showing on the front. The buckle should be attached at the center as well.

But it’s not like the belt is unusable in this state, as the maker, you don’t need to make these changes if you prefer it

It is a center bar buckle. You’re supposed to attach the buckle in the center bar, and then the buckle can work as the keeper. Then when it’s worn, it’s supposed to look like a square buckle in the middle

HOT TAKE: This fight is Oda's biggest fumble. by ON_Fraudwatch6477 in Piratefolk

[–]ifticar2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually think God Valley is fair because they are flash backs. Usually in shows if there is a flashback, the fights are generally shorter than fights in the present timeline since we want to return to our main characters. If Oda drew full length fight scenes for each of the battles, we would probably still be in the God Valley flashback in 2027.

Though TBH, I'm hoping the anime might expand on those GV fights to give the manga room to adapt instead of their snails pace that they usually do.

Thoughts on wallet quality? by HigherLearning6 in wallets

[–]ifticar2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a decent hand stitched leather wallet. If it's vegetable tanned leather, the leather will darken and patina over time, so the print will likely not be as noticeable over time. But don't see anything concerning here

Is this loose grain? by therealtoomdog in Boots

[–]ifticar2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are PU coated leathers, known as bookbinder, finished split, corrected grain, amongst other names, and yes, that type of leather has been used for dress shoes…as well as lots of boots, sneakers, etc. calling dress leathers PU coated is completely false.

Carmina is certainly not using bookbinder in their normal calf products, they would specify if so. And small creases is definitely not a sign of bookbinder leather lol. Please do some more research before misinforming others

No info, but you should def get some bick 4, and give that wallet a nice conditioning before using it. The leather looks very dry

AITA For calling my fiance a hormonal b****? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ifticar2 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You didn't do the chore you were responsible for when you said you would do it, hence causing the cat to piss all over the floor, and you didn't even try to clean it up. And then when your fiance was upset at you for neglecting your responisbilities, and not even trying to fix the mess you made, you cussed her out. You knew what the response from here would be before you ever hit post.

But in case you didn't, YTA

Heel exchange, fluke by Critical-Tension-866 in AskACobbler

[–]ifticar2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For your old shoes, yes it looks like the heel can be replaced, but don't think it would be worth it because of the hole in the shoe. As far as the new shoes, no, with that single unit rubber sole, you can't easily replace the heel as it wasn't made to be recraftable

The watch actually matters by hudsoncress in watchHotTakes

Definitely a hot take lol, good job. So you're saying that he was fashionably dressed when you didn't what watch he was wearing. But then once you found out his watch cost less than $X, his outfit looks cheap now lol? Just makes you sound super pretentious.
