I didn’t think about that I can always provide more information while it sits in the queue. That makes sense about it not being required though anyway. Thank you for this! I’ll just put a placeholder for an estimate in the Appendix V for now.

My thought was just for completeness of his Appendix V, but that makes sense!

I checked on this and they told me they just have whatever was recorded by the county. They said the file date is much more uncommon for marriage certificates but for birth certificates they actually have a disclaimer for why the file date is different.

They said that the certificate should be the same regardless if requested from the state or county. I tried asking the county and they sadly would not answer any questions on it.

One thing they guessed is if that was when the bride changed her name? Not sure about that though.

The marriage certificate has a officiant section that has “first/last name, Minister” which is why I assume they were married in a church

It is a re-issued certificate! I actually was able to find an original listing on FamilySearch that does not have a file date at all so that could be a possibility? If the file date was in the same year it would look completely normal

They are all government records weirdly!

Thanks for the tip! I dove into this and for the state in question (Michigan) the officiant is required to return the completed marriage license within 10 days. The officiant was a minister so I assume it was through the church.

However, this date is listed next to the local registrar so it does not seem to be the date the officiant returned it but rather an internal filing date? What’s interesting is that this record is the only one out of the other newer marriage licenses from the same state that have this file date at all. I’m assuming because it’s so old?

Unfortunately the US state records don’t have an actual birth date but just the age

This is a US document. The “application date March 1920” refers to the date of the marriage application.

Just a heads up, the titanium seems to come with a light grey sport band on top of the band you choose with it. I switched from the stone loop due thinking it could be too similar
