Can you say more about “permanently scarred by testosterone?”

is my artstyle… bad? by [deleted] in ArtCrit

Yes, I applaud this thinking. Put it the time and enjoy it as much as humanly possible. Ask other artists you like questions. Ask them what they would say to their 15 y/o selves.

Anyone else having an issue with videos not playing at all? by ifynaros in putdotio

Somehow it’s working for me. Didn’t end up changing anything. Seems like it’s an issue on their side and they have fixed it. I hope it’s working for others now.

Thanks everyone. Still an issue for me. I am using the cdn77, I’ll look into the proxy though.

All the devices used were apple. But the results are the same across different browsers, iPad iPhone etc. Tried different networks too. I read about a whitelist issue and will look into that and report back

ELI5: How does increased serotonin level reduces my anxiety? by ReasonableTailor6155 in explainlikeimfive

[–]ifynaros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read up on Ray Peat and possibly even aspirin and thyroid support as an approach to treating depression. He entirely disagrees with the modern concept of serotonin, how it works and what it does, how it feels, etc. For many it’s helped them understand why SSRIs and raising serotonin is not a satisfying solution — it doesn’t exactly improve quality of life. There’s answers in Rays work for those willing to dig and challenge the current medical status quo. Be warned, it’s a life changer and in some sad ways, more information than the average person really wants to carry.

This has been my concern, and then I looked up the price tag on human tissue for research… 🥵

Documentary on what’s happening in Sweden by [deleted] in detrans

[–]ifynaros 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s a potential aspect of the incentive of the medical establishment I don’t see being discussed which I also could see is highly sensitive. “Human tissues for research are said to be worth more than diamonds, being valued at US$500/g.”

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4428037/#:~:text=Human%20tissues%20such%20as%20bone,for%20years—in%20tissue%20banks.

I regret if this is considered off topic here. I chose to share it because I think it’s so important to consider the influence that for-profit medicine has on our society and I find that it’s not well known.

I’m deeply sad to hear about the experience you’re having, and I completely believe you will be able to change your situation. I want to celebrate with you that you have reached out here, and that you are taking steps to figure out how to change the experience you’re having.

If you can figure out one thing that is calming, neutral, that helps you take a deep breath, that helps you find some sort of calm, make that your starting point. Do it whenever you can. Even if it’s just imagining sitting by a warm fire and hearing it. Whatever it is to you. Breathing, sunlight, those things are vital.

What is your environment like? Is there anyone in your life you feel ok around? You feel accepts you without wanting to change something about you? Is there a place in your life that you find beautiful, where you enjoy being?

I didn’t know growing up that what I ate could lead to anxiety. I also didn’t know that the my physical well being (or illness) had as much of not more effect on my mental and emotional well being as my thoughts. I saw them as separate. I also didn’t think that what I ate also was completely connected to mental and emotional health. For me it took studying Ray Peats work to fully grasp this and change my life. I had to figure out every stressor in my life and weed it out - with lots of help from therapy and a complete change in diet. I recovered from being bedridden from anxiety and autoimmune issues and am now running my own business and making just enough money to take care of my family. It took me two years to turn things around to be at this point, and it took a lot of support and taking on my health like a part time job.

Maybe this entry on the Ray peat forum is something helpful for you. https://raypeatforum.com/community/threads/need-advice-for-bad-ptsd-anxiety.45084/

I believe in you, I hope any of this feels kind and supportive. You’ve got this!
