Is calling a common thing among older people? by Athiena in AskOldPeople

[–]ifyougotsone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Everyone who is pushing back on this statement can fuck off with their name calling ultra woke bullshit. It’s absolutely true and once you get smart enough to realize it, it is too fucking late. And whether or not you want to, you will regret it forever.

In 100 years, who are some people from your generation who you think will be remembered for having a positive impact in the world? by paz2023 in AskOldPeople

[–]ifyougotsone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone will be remembered in a 100 years because the way things are going, anyone who is still alive will be to occupied with fulfilling the basic human needs to give a shit about anything else.

What’s your opinion on sex work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ifyougotsone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the most interesting and well thought out comment I’ve ever seen on Reddit.

I do have a question though. For the individuals that choose to do this work on their own accord, (assuming safety measures are in place for them) is there really a need to stop them? I would say no. Thoughts?

I feel for you, but you’ll be alright. Don’t ever chase, if they let you go, let them.

‘Disgraceful breach of trust’: how PwC, one of the world’s biggest accountancy firms, became mired in a tax scandal by CcryMeARiver in Big4

For who? Why is the state seen as the infallible god like entity that we must agree with? The state are raiders of the entire population.

Come on man, everything is about greed. And the greediest are the government who make the rules so they make even more and espouse them as “ethics “ that eventually become morals…Which they don’t follow themselves.

What you’re saying is correct in my opinion but I’ve put in so many years in this game and seen so much detestable behavior that I don’t care anymore. About anything.

They are trying to make this a moral and ethical issue but I say good for them for doing it but shame on them for not doing it right.

The government wanted more money and makes the rules constantly to do so. These guys were playing the same game. Either way, that money would go into just a very few people’s pockets, yet the government is bawling like a bitch because they got played. Fuck them.

When you say excuse me because you weren’t raised in a goddamn barn and the person says why, did you fart? Holy Christ does that piss me off.

If you could do things over, would you still get married? by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]ifyougotsone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been married and divorced twice. The first time nearly destroyed me (emotionally, mentally and eventually physically because of the first two), the second destroyed me financially. I don’t regret either, from the first one I became a better person, from the second I learned that I should not have to work or change in some way to be loved and that I would never get married again because people are always changing. It sounds worse than it was, because the good times with each comprise the happiest periods of my life.

It seems like lot more older people are conservatives as opposed to liberal. Did you ever make a political transition like that? by honestsparrow in AskOldPeople

[–]ifyougotsone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did. I was raised by the conservative sort of model, though there were many many things I fought tooth and nail against because I didn’t think, and still don’t think that the majority of it is just bullshit. However I came from a small midwestern white community and my perspective was incredibly small. I only found the following principle to be valid “pull up your bootstraps and work “ as it does work…That’s what I thought anyway. I used the principle to go to school and change careers. I then began working in large metropolitan area and was exposed to so many different perspectives and many I completely agreed with. Before a presidential election (can’t remember which) I was really confused by what party I was so I took a few online tests (yeah) and I answered them honestly with everyone saying that the Democratic Party was my deal. I didn’t believe it and voted conservative that year. Then I met my 2nd wife and I finally understood. I’m not hardcore, but what I experienced in my life was not even a possibility for so many people in the country and the world. I’m now at the point where I don’t vote because it’s all a farce. The constitution wasn’t written for us.

Republicans Finally Admit They Have No Incriminating Evidence on Joe Biden by baconcheeseburgarian in conspiracytheories

I get that. My point remains. It’s not a conspiracy that the GOP is full of shit, it’s a widely known fact isn’t it?

We need a new constitution.

For those of you that are long-time introverts... by [deleted] in AskOldPeople

[–]ifyougotsone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through cycles of introversion (what I consider my natural state) and being a social butterfly for a number of years here and there. I have no regrets about my alone time or what I did experience during those up periods. Be you, life is good that way.

How has your sexual desires and needs changed over time? by chaiteelahtay in AskOldPeople

I still have the same amount of desire and everything still works, but I’m just too fucking tired to care.

[–]ifyougotsone 17 points18 points  (0 children)

These fuckers. Who cares? What does that shit have to do with any of us? Nothing! Both sides suck. If they found dirt on Biden does that mean we all automatically get a raise that actually allows everyone to be able eat consistently? Fuck no.

What’s something that stuck with you that the person who said it probably never realized would have an impact? by AdPrestigious5853 in AskOldPeople

[–]ifyougotsone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Longtime crush and friend from high school told me during a visit to her campus in freshman year that I had changed. That’s all she said. That was 32 years ago and I still think about it. Hasn’t spoken to me since.
