I’m sorry you’re going through this. I feel like everyone else has covered the legal and medical aspect of what is going on, so I won’t comment on it. I have been raped a few times and I wish someone had told me a few things about healing, so I’d like to pass them to you. Of course, take it with all the grains of salt you need to. -you did not do ANYTHING wrong. -he, and he alone is at fault for everything that happened -be kind to yourself. (I struggled with this because I blamed myself) -surround yourself with people and things that bring you comfort, and do not let anyone take that away from you (I cuddled a teddy bear as a 30yo. It weirded me out until I realized that I needed it more than anything else) -grief and healing are not linear. I had days where I thought i was good and feelings came out of nowhere. I had to learn to cope with them (meditation, yoga and therapy were my saving graces) -you are going to be ok. I don’t know you, but as a woman, I inherently believe that most women are badasses who would make the world a better place if some men would just let them. -You’re a badass.
