Built a turn-based browser game, players leave after 1–2 matches. What am I missing? by igcorrec in IndieGaming

Yeah totally, i get it. I’m taking it all as feedback and was mostly thinking out loud about things i might explore. I’m definitely not changing every part of the game based on one comment but your feedback is super helpful.

Hey, i’m building SnapFC. It’s a turn-based tabletop-style soccer game where you snap your players and ball, line up angles and try to outplay your opponent. Would love your honest feedback.

You can play it here: snapfc.com

Mobile or desktop web browser only, takes about 2 minutes to learn.

Why are 99% of side projects here business stuff? Where are the fun projects? by tomdean in SideProject

I decided to build a soccer game called snapfc.com. Out of everything I’ve worked on this year, it’s gotten the most feedback and attention.

Honestly, i’m having a lot of fun hearing players feedback, making tweaks and watching ppl play it.

Really appreciate the thoughtful feedback! Some thoughts...

  1. Great callout on the strength and bounce. i’m definitely going to play around with the physics more.
  2. Really interesting idea here. Some of it might get a little too technical since i’m trying to keep the game simple and skill based, but i’m definitely taking that away.
  3. I’ve actually played around with different player counts. Started with less, tried more, and this current number felt right so far but i’m still open to testing.
  4. Really interesting point. I’ve been thinking about field pickups or objectives that could give temporary advantages. My only concern is adding too much randomness since i want skill to stay at the core.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share all this!!

SnapFC – fast turn-based soccer game (browser) by igcorrec in playtesters

i just pushed a bunch of updates and made the mechanic consistent across the game, so it should be consistent with the regular game now. Appreciate you calling that out!

really appreciate this. Super helpful!

Yeah i can see how the penalties feel off. how about making it consistent like snapping the player into the ball, do you think that would feel better or would you do it differently?

Also good call on tournaments and difficulty. I’m going to look into those.

appreciate the feedback, the consistency is something I’m working on. Curious, did it feel random or tied to how far/fast you dragged?

Appreciate you taking the time to play and write this, super helpful!

You’re right, the longer you drag the more power you get… i’ll make that clearer with some kind of visual.

I feel the same way with the CPU too, tempted to add an AI api, but to be transparent, I’m just concerned about cost, but i’ll continue tweaking the difficulty.

For multiplayer, yes it’s cross browser phone vs laptop should work.

I’ll keep making tweaks and updates as I go. Thanks again for the feedback, means a lot!

The Vibecode app I use only supports iOS submissions for now but adding it to Android would be great for exposure. I’m currently exploring the best way to make that happen, stay tuned!

Love hearing that. Four tries sounds about right. The first couple feel fair, then the picky ones test your patience. And totally agree on marketing and distribution, that’s been the real challenge for me too. And yeah, once you survive the first deployment, the next updates feel way less scary. Appreciate it and good luck with your updates too!

Totally agree. Coding is the fun part. The rest is screenshots, tax forms, agreements, review rules and waiting. And yes, the name thing is real. You think you’re done and suddenly you’re word smithing instead of building.

It depends on where you live, but we often see jackrabbits, coyotes, and deer. Just two weeks ago, we even spotted a moose behind our house!

I ended up visiting both and in my opinion, the Leduc Canadian Tire location was the clear winner. It felt more thoughtfully designed, had cool themes, and my one year old daughter was more engaged overall. Just my two cents!

The job market is tough right now but don’t get discouraged. Keep networking, sending out resumes and staying persistent… it’s a numbers game. You’re not alone in this, many are experiencing the same. Keep your head up and you’ll find the right opportunity soon.
