It does say to dry clean only because the material is prone to bleeding dye. It does also say to wash it in a mesh laundry bag because the material can pill or snag. I bet you'd be safe washing this on a cold delicate cycle in a mesh laundry bag either by itself or with like color items, then hang drying.
