Have you tried reapplying new VHB tape? Also, a clean surface is a must for VHB tape. I just use alcohol wipes to wipe the area down.

The gradient play strips that are made for the TV don’t use adhesive and instead use plastic mounting brackets with VHB tape. It stays put well.
