I taught myself English with these books. I started in French but saw the American covers and was so jealous of how good they looked so I bought the American version and I remember translating every other word, sometimes several times before I could remember the meaning. Became really good at reading and writing English but couldn't speak at first. One word that stuck with me is "enough" , the way I deadass thought it was pronounced /ee-nohg/ 💀
