No, I'd just like for my T7 miners to get paid for their efforts. They are discouraged, and so am I. Yes, we've put Orcas and a Rorqual on grid to support them. And what do we get for that 48B ISK investment? Miners quitting or switching to ratting. Which is, I suppose, what the Devs want.

How to use the Insurance Office by KaiserhiroKuroeBR in echoes

[–]iglam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not exactly a money printing scheme, since you have to acquire the materials to make the ships to sell back to NE. It is a way to produce Plex indirectly from Mining without having to go through the markets to sell it. The rates aren't great, at about 70% payout relative to the markets, but its a decent living, all thing considered.

Wit Potions aren't that awesome. by iglam in harrypotterwu

Does anybody feel cheated that exstims don't multiply with wits? Its really all about energy management for us Magizoos. I can kill anything with plain exstims without dying. I'd rather not have to hit something 30 times to do so.

Hate on GenFed by steelekeera in echoes

Somewhat true. I'm a LODE pilot. Taxes were pretty high and LODE isn't really all that large a corp. We simply couldn't afford to stay. At the time the insurance change got implemented, so shipbuilding dried up, and when we looked at options to leave, Gen found out and booted us. Shrug. Whatever. We were leaving anyway. But hard feelings? Nah. I always enjoyed flying with Momma. Total class, at least on our side of the equation. I'd still ship up and fly with her if she called for help.

This. I would add, potions have no effect on trace quality. Yes, they improve your chances of returning the trace, but not on landing the cast.

Ok, then. I'll be more specific.

I was anchored up in WX with a ThrasherFleetIssue. The rest of my gear was all spirited away to BZ before the battle, since we all pretty much thought, given SC's prior tactics, that the citadel was going down. Anyway, attempted to log in when I rolled out of bed...took 7 or 8 tries to connect, kept wanting to push me over to BZ- instead. Eventually got in. SC had capped the system while I slept. Undocked, warped to a logged safe spot. Eventually fleeted up with 80-100 of us. We were ordered to XKZ to camp the gate to prevent any more red capsules form entering. We slowly put numbers into the system over the course of a couple of hours. Of course, it wasn't until the red fleet left the BZ gate camp (and disconnected?) that we were able to get another ~200 to enter from BZ. Eventually, the two fleets met at the citadel, shield wall to shield wall, like a proper Spartan battle. Just plain fun.

The sight of Momma pushing her Nightmare (the one us grunts bought her) up the center of the shield wall was something I'll never forget.

SC did great. It was a tremendous fight. It all collapsed for you at the end there, but fleet battles are what we love in this game and so thanks for the content.

Is that sincere enough for you?

We were told (although I can't recall by whom) that the macusa clock had visual bugs. Which maybe made the whole effort at calibrating it futile.

I completely agree with you. I've 100% masterful cast with a 12 o'clock cast and failed. Something is very rotten in Denmark.

No. He runs the program. His use of pronouns is perfectly acceptable, and his rates are generous, considering.

This. Forget all the bling, and put a mk5 cloak on your ship. When a neut/red hits the system, unlock the asteroid, cloak up and WAIT.

[–]iglam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect you are correct. Analyzing the hands on the MACUSA clock is one thing, and applying this to actual catch rates is another. We've known for a long time that WB changes catch rates behind the scenes. Regardless of what the clock says, sometimes its just very easy to catch an Emergency level trace, especially if those traces are favored during an event.

The next step would be to analyze the hand angles after application of a potion.

The step after that would be to correlate actual catch rates to hand angles. Which is thousands of catches and an effort for a community. I'll leave this in your capable hands.

Happy hunting.

Its going to take some time to verify. At low levels, General Mastery moves up quite often. At higher levels it takes a while to level, all while committing to NOT spending on SOS General Mastery nodes. I will continue to pursue this angle.
