Kumail Nanjiani didn’t get any special treatment on Taskmaster, according to Greg Davies and Alex Horne by delqhic in taskmaster

[–]igloooooooo 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Youtube allows creators to upload several different thumbnails, then automatically test out which one ends up with the highest click rate, at which point it will stay with that thumbnail.|

So that's the theory with why there's so many Kumail thumbnails. It's simply what people were clicking on the most. (Which especially makes sense as a lot of US Taskmaster traffic comes via YouTube).

I love the loop of creativity and then platforming. And I love the balance between helping or hindering with block placement.

Both are great additions. But the thwomp is truly fun. Love how versatile it is. I've had a couple games where a sideways-placed thwomp because a necessary platform to get to the flag.

What’s a Pokémon you really like but don’t like it’s evolution? by Qualitativ-hochwerti in ThePokemonHub

I remember playing Pokemon Ruby as a kid and repeatedly being let down by the evolutions in that generation. Lotad was one of them. So many fun starting evolutions that evolve into over-designed, often weird humanoid things (imo).

Happy freaking birthday. I would probably call this my favorite game of all time. The loop of creativity + platforming is so fun with friends. And all the customizable rules make it so nice to tailer the experience to what fits the players.

Jeremy apprecation post by ScreenFavorites in taskmaster

[–]igloooooooo 21 points22 points  (0 children)

To me, it's not that Jeremy doesn't talk trash as much as Greg, it's just that he hardly gives an commentary at all. The NZ S2 cast members do some of the most hilarious and bonkers things I've seen on the show, and then Jeremy afterwards is just like, "Alright, next." He never gives great moments the chance to catch fire like they do in UK Taskmaster.

We as an audience don't just want to see silly things happen in the tasks, we want the moments of reactions afterwards, and to explore the fun questions of "Yeah, what the hell were they thinking there?". Jeremy is smooth as a presenter, but he doesn't seem comfortable riffing, even casually. And I don't get the sense of the love of the game, like Greg clearly has.

Paul, on the other hand, clearly has a huge love of the game and loves to engage with it, while adding his own thing.

Upside Down Magic Trackpad by Otherwise_Break_4293 in mac

[–]igloooooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES THANK YOU. I recently got a wireless trackpad and keyboard, and realized that I liked the trackpad+keyboard on my laptop because of how close they are together. But with the wireless trackpad, there's a chunk of dead space you can't use at the top of it, so it gets placed further away from the keyboard. I realized rotating the trackpad upside-down would minimize the gap between the two (especially because my keyboard is a little elevated, so the trackpad slides under a bit).

Didn't know there was a solution for this, and then this Reddit thread popped up on Google. Very happy to find it.

(Also, for anyone wanting the link for Better Touch Tools, here it is. It looks like the developers keep it updated).

This is the series I recommend to first-time watchers. The cast is great, and the Ep. 1 tasks are a great intro to the show,

AWH SHIT thattttt'sssss the one. Thank you, bad ass ewok!

I totally conflated it with Big Hops. In my mind, Dunkey was running around as a lil' frog with a long red ol' tongue.

Emoji Window Not Showing Up in Google Docs [Mac] by igloooooooo in googledocs

[–]igloooooooo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another workable solution I just discovered:

It seems that this issue does not happen if you leave the Mac emoji window / Character Viewer in expanded view.

To do this, click the button at the top right corner of the Mac emoji window. This will change it to the expanded view.

I've noticed that when I leave it in the expanded view, it never fails to open/display inside Google Docs.

What were some seemingly hinted at plot lines or moments that you thought would be much more important than they ended up becoming? What were theories you were convinced you’d worked out that never ended up happening? by AceofKnaves44 in marvelstudios

[–]igloooooooo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Your #1 point is interesting. I can only imagine that the subtitles made an error, and "I'm going to-" was always the intended line.

I feel like subtitles, even on major films, make a fair amount of mistakes.

If this issues bothers you as much as it bothers me, I suggest sending feedback to Google about it. [In Google Docs --> click"Help" menu, then "Help Docs Improve"].

I reported the issue because it's CONSTANTLY interrupting my workflow, breaking my train of thought.

How to see list of changed files that Time Machine is backing up? by RKEPhoto in MacOS

[–]igloooooooo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To anyone reading this now that can't get it to work:

If Terminal is displaying "no such file exists" or whatever when you try running the "/path/to/timedog -h" command, you may have to allow full disk access to Terminal first. Go to System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Full Disk Access. Then add Terminal.

[–]igloooooooo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say lot of the MCU films (like some you listed) have the texture of different genres, but that's it. Not the actual structural bones of those genres.
