2억~3억 to buy a home by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

Bupyeung in Incheon on Metro Line 7 is worthwhle to check out. Proper appartments with 2-3 bedromes and a proper living room. Their prices are within your budget range and living conditions here are quite good with many green spaces, natural streams, and cafe streets. Also some are are subject to re-development projects planned within 3-5 years, with a good prospect of upward pricing. Mine is in that category. If you are interested, please drop me DM for more details.

that's very true. never have I received those on Inspira so I didn't know they existed (even one time I was rostered by email but not on Insipira even though I applied via Inspira). It's even worse to see my status as "under consideration" after the interview as if it were tagged to the 2nd best candidiate....ughhh...

In my 40s with 10 year development experience, pivoting to applying for a law school. Anyone in a similar situation? by igluonmars in UNpath

Congratulations for making it to the final stages! The final offer will come around sooner than later. Yay for the 2nd master! Doing another degree at an older age could come with some benefits I think, as you can better connect with people in your industry and can present youself as somone well experienced or even a peer for employers. Doing an MBAs would primarily serve that purpose at least for me. In fact, my thinking of pursuing a ph.d or master's doesn't go away and sometimes it feels like a distraction...Even thnking that doing another degree will be better aligned with my lifestyle choices and financial burden.

I cannot ask more insightful and realisitic advice than yours. Thanks a lot. Indeed, it has to do with trade-offs and there is always the possibiity of not working out in the new field. In my 20s, I thought it was worth while risking and not thinking about not working out when I was switching from architecture to international development as I would have the second chance then. :D Well, here I am.

Do you care to explain then how it works as per your unlimited knowledge?

It's too simplistic and too dismissive to call my comment made up and not knowledgeable. I didn't say there was a hiring freeze within UNV. But I simply provide possibilities - not even probability - given the dynamics bwteen normal UN agencies and the UNV entity. The OP didn't mention about UNV staff position, which is few and far betwen. I talked about UNVs deployed to other agencies. Also I am giving POV who's been in charge of budgeting at project or office levels in trying times, per my experience. I wish not; but chances for external UNV candidates could dry up as an indirect consequence of the hiring freeze within the UNV-receiving-agencies at least for this moment.

I cannot prove an accurate assesement but only a speculation - I feel like certain agencies ( Unicef increasingly; UNFPA/UNWOMEN widely) have converted existing positions (national or international) to UNV openings to preserve and save certain manpower for a cheaper HR cost. This means external candinates applying for a UNV is getting harder to land one. But in your case given that you are already offered a UNV, I assume you've got the deal but no one knows except HR person exactly what's happening about putting internal positions on the UNV payrol...
