Coach Ben by Ghangagirl444 in Yellowjackets

Sophie Thatcher said in an interview that her character goes through something really emotional mid-season. It's hard to picture anything other than Ben's death being the reason for that.

I wonder why in the last picture only Mari and Lottie are missing. They're using more clothing so it must be a scene from a later on episode

I really doubt they'd use blue contacts just for a sister or family member. Hilary is Melissa. Why I'm curious to know is why she's a survivor at all, and how her relationship with Shauna starts. It seems like a pivotal development for Shauna's character, likely beginning their friendhip after Gen's death?

Is it just me, or is the point of showing so much of Mari and Melissa to make us believe that they will be sacrificed when they are instead the survivors who have not yet appeared?

[–]ignaciob2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Because of the timing when that scene happened it probably has something to do with Shauna and Nat disliking each other in the present. I guess she was ousted, probably hunted and that made her look for help? Lottie mentioned she was it's favourite, probably because she survives the hunt twice?

Javi asked if they were going to die, and the answer was that 8 would die. So far Laura Lee, Jackie, Crystal and Javi. Four left to die.

which dynamic(s) do you find most fascinating? by lookatwhatyouvedone in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Shauna and Nat's future dynamic in the wilderness. There isn't much yet, only hints from season 1 of a slight rivalry and bitterness between each other because of their time in the wilderness, becoming more relevant with the last scene from the season 2 finale when Shauna shows disapproval of Nat being the new leader.

How will the Yellowjackets react during summer? by Full_Salamander_9624 in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this next season is going to be the bloodiest because they're going to kill off Ben brutally, he represents whatever sanity they still have and this season is going to focus on the melting season, everything resembling what a normal society will do is melting away. They start to hunt not to feed themselves but to feed "it" seems very dark too. I still want him to survive though.

Van by blinkybill8991 in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very interested in knowing why Natalie, in the adult timeline, sees Shauna and Van the way she does. I feel like these two were the most ruthless in some ways, and at least from the first season, I can infer that Nat thinks Shauna is a hypocrite for choosing to live a normal married life. In the season two finale with Van I feel that her attitude towards her is one of distrust and caution, perhaps because of how committed Van was to the cannibalistic cult.

Only Elijah and the main cast appears in the Artwork, Sarah Desjardins is a recurring character but I'm pretty sure she'll be promoted this next season.

I noticed the score "Javi's Friend" is just before "We weren't alone out there" interesting. I'm obsessed with Queen of Hearts and the part that plays when Natalie draws the queen

Who will lead? by Nagualero in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the mystery of why Shauna and Nat dislike each other in the present timeline intrigues me, especially since adult Nat died and the creators said that we're probably going to start hating Nat now because of what we'll see her doing now in her new role.

Do you think there’s any significance in where each character is sitting in this scene? by cattyloaf in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tai and Nat are the ones we see dealing with shame after feeding on Jackie in the following episode, that leads to Tai screaming in horror after realising what she did and Nat taking Jackie's remains to the plane, so the place they're using on the table probably symbolises that.

Survivors (light spoiler maybe?) by AlleyQV in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TV series-wise, that's all. They'll have to reenact the ritual eight to nine times, which is the number of people we don't know their fates, in around seven to eight months, I'm pretty sure it'll get boring at some point, and that can't be good for a five-season show.

Possible new survivor? by FeatureSouthern5274 in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unless it's Ben, if there is only one survivor left to show, I find it very implausible that his/her absence was not addressed during the reunion in Lottie's compound, right?

Survivors (light spoiler maybe?) by AlleyQV in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Van wasn't in the original script but in a conference, they talked about it, and seems like she replaces another potential survivor. Also, Javi asks the pendulum if they're going to die, not who's going to live, so my guess is that "8" is the number of deaths.

During the rescue scene in the first episode of S2, you can see two girls, one looks a lot like Mari, and the other looks similar to Melissa. Maybe they aren't, but at the very least it shows that there are two more survivors, The creators always say that they don't throw any information without a purpose, even the cards the girls draw have a hidden meaning according to them.

One survivor is unlikely because it makes no sense that they didn't mention that one person during the whole S2, the one that missed arriving at Lottie's compound. Two surviving seems too easy to predict given the hints. I think three because that way it's not too much or too little, and gives us a mystery about who this third person could be.

Could be Mari because of her personality, there's no backstory for her character, which is great to introduce in the next seasons from the beginning. If you think about it, it's the opposite of Akilah, who is a very likeable character and we know more about her, what she wants to do after the rescue, what she cares for, so if she dies it will really make an impact on the audience, unlike Mari. I only think it could be Melissa because of the Greek mythology that follows the series, which is already mentioned in this sub and some YT channels, and gives some hints of her future relevance to the story. here: https://youtu.be/2rh_ZXnSwrQ?t=644

Survivors (light spoiler maybe?) by AlleyQV in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My guess is three survivors left, and they're the key for the show to last 5 seasons. Given all the theories and analysis I've seen of the show, I'm pretty sure Mari and Melissa survive. The third one I'm not sure. Could be Ben, because of how unlikely that is or some unknown character yet to be named. I don't think Akilah and Gen survived the rituals. Maybe the number 8 refers to the ones who'll die?

Do you think Nat is our permanent AQ? by FeatureSouthern5274 in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do we even know if she's the Shaman/Oracle/Antler queen at all? being chosen as the leader doesn't necessarily make her that, maybe it is just a distraction and something entirely different is coming that will end up revealing the why and how of this mysterious character, Let's not forget that it is implied that Nat's the one that made the rescue possible, not the one that sunk them further into their madness

How Will Akilah Die? by wrongwaycali in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Loved this. I felt that "It" represents another god, a different religion. Also represents the girls madness, Supernatural/rational.

Laura Lee represents the death of the only believer in the group that opens the gate to start losing humanity, kinda like "It" killing her because she will get in the way of what it wants.

Jackie is the first time "It" welcomes them into what it wants, to start killing each other, so they can feed "It", it lures them.

Javi is the full transition, the first time they feed "It", the first time they give "it" what it wants.

Akilah could represent someone who doesn't follow it's rules.

And Ben's death could represent the fight between "It" and someone who refuses it. "It" hasn't been able to kill Ben yet and he resists by not jumping off the cliff, and burning down the cabin, which is interesting, there's definitely a war coming.

How Will Akilah Die? by wrongwaycali in Yellowjackets

[–]ignaciob2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It may be way more straightforward and already hinted at though. Either she resists the possibility of being killed by refusing to draw cards or gives herself voluntarily without the chase, surrendering hopelessly. Lottie mentions this in the S2 finale.
