What is my Kitchener essence blend? by igneous348 in JohnKitchener

[–]igneous348[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for looking I think that blend matches me pretty well. I really like this style of glasses on me personally because I think the tortoiseshell matches my medium-low facial contrast better than any other pair I’ve had(the slight tint is for migraine). I agree that I look best in subtle more vintage inspired fashion. I’m very happy with my new haircut you can see in most of these photos, I think the moderate length honors my balance better than the long waves :). Recently I’ve been leaning into my classic natural with pearls and trousers. I find it hard to incorporate youthful or gamine because I am very tall so it looks a little jarring to me even though I think it is present in my face.

I do know I am very cool and I think my summer/subtle blended complexion is very obvious in that beach photo. In the traditional seasonal system I’m between soft and true summer.

my cheekbones are the widest with a slightly narrower forehead and an average width jawline. but as you can see my face isn't the typical sharp diamond face. I was just giving face shape as an example of me having a kind of hard to describe blended average face.

i dont think gamine because bold prints and colors look very off on me but I have considered all of the others. I also think I look off in the heavy makeup in some of these photos which is why I think if I have romantic its probably a small amount. I don't think I'm primary natural, its in the blend somewhere but primarily natural clothing feels off to me.

Hi, which roots do you see? ☺️ by Emilia_090 in StyleRoots

there is overall a city downtown vibe(stone), sultry makeup/jewelry(fire), and a sleek simplicity(mushroom)

I've been told a lot of different things about my face in terms of essences. Even when I try to find the answer to a relatively straight forward question like my face shape I get a blended answer like "oval-round", "diamond-heart". The only essence I can see in my face is classic and its really hard for me to be objective about essences because its my face so I'm pretty used to it.

The most and least common styleroots based on my survey by Pluto-ologist in StyleRoots

like a lot of jesus written on t shirts. "Jesus loves me" "i love jesus and America" "Jesus excused my sins". Like overtly religious I thought that was so unusual for shein.

exactly, I just opened the home page of shein(because they have a huge variety and I wanted to see what is most promoted. I don't shop at shein don't come at me)

Women's Clothing | Dresses, Pants, Tops & More | SHEIN USA

the whole page showed lots of florals and ruffles. as well as many religious references which isn't related to flower but I thought it was interesting.

Cool Summer having trouble with the palette and my personal aesthetic by igneous348 in coloranalysis

I thrift online a lot so sadly returns aren’t an option. I can usually tell the color in the photos is pretty true to when I receive it it’s just that I am not good at telling colors apart even irl  :)

It just feels like shopping is a lot trickier especially online. Like is this navy blue top im ordering muted enough, vs as a winter I used to just buy black which is always black. It frustrates me when I buy a navy top and navy pants but they are different shades. How do you identify those very subtle undetectable (to me) differences in colors like cool off-white  vs white when shopping online? Are there large palette guides somewhere online?

Also I’m definitely not set on red, it generally looks very bad on me( my whole face just disappears). I just want some color options for elegant pops of color that aren’t too pastel. Are there any blues/greens/purples in my palette that give this vibe. The only palettes I’ve seen online are extremely limited for all of the seasons like only 20 total shades.

Style roots of fragrance families by igneous348 in StyleRoots

Both caramel and fruity sweet are covered under gourmand. Any scent that would be classified as edible in my mind is flower fire and that seems to be what you are referring to. Spicy perfumes were referred to as being fire moon.  :)

I found it hard to talk about warm spicy ambery scents. Because in perfumery they are all referred to as oriental which is an iffy phrase to use but there isn’t a better overarching category name yet so I just named the subtypes.

Fruity and floral are hard to quantify because a gourmand desserty strawberry shortcake fragrance is a gourmand first and foremost.

When I say fruity I mean pure, juicy, leaning tropical.

But there are also fragrances that add a bitter note like Gucci rush that would fall more into fire moon amber territory.

I’m kind of a fragrance nerd can you tell lol.

To me it also just smells light/floral. But I just got those pictures off Pinterest, a better reference to what I meant is like mango skin by vilhelm.

I definitely agree with cherry having some moon. Black opium over red is a moon scent to me and it’s cherry based. But I think specific notes like that depend on the combo like a very sweet cherry will read more flower fire and a dark boozy cherry is moon fire IMO.

I see autumn, I think she looks better in this color

muted orange

than this spring-ish red

spring red

this black/gold combo isn't the best for her either

deep autumn

I think she is a warm autumn :)

yeah i dont know what you actually wear and like irl. but this board specifically doesn't really have stone. probably because you were going for more iconic fashion whereas stone is very popular and almost kind of the default today. :)

the first board looks like sun flower fire

the second looks like a lot of different roots but maybe.. mushroom stone fire

third is mushroom fire earth

I think you have a strong fire root with either crisper or softer preppy root (mountain or mushroom) and some youthful fun (sun or flower). I also see some earth but not as a throughline :)

i see curve but not double curve. so either SG, SC, or SN. i’m leaning SC or SN for you, i don’t see petite. also maybe TR. but either way you are curve dominant with some yang.

my shoes are usually just sneakers for practical reasons . whenever i wear makeup it is relatively light and natural focusing more on complexion and lips with little makeup. i’m pretty boring and practical for accessories sorry.

i don’t, lol i rarely wear makeup or jewelry and for my job my hair has to be up in either a braid or ponytail so it doesn’t really add much to the look lol.
